Trump to Apple: 'Make your products' in the US to avoid tariffs

President Trump on Saturday pitched what he called an "easy solution" for Apple to avoid his proposed tariffs on China: Make the products in the U.S.

Trump acknowledged in a tweet that "Apple prices may increase because of the massive Tariffs we may be imposing on China," but suggested the issue was not with the tariffs themselves.

"[T]here is an easy solution where there would be ZERO tax, and indeed a tax incentive. Make your products in the United States instead of China. Start building new plants now," Trump wrote. "Exciting!"

This is giving Apple's international competitors a big advantage. The rest of the world will continue to use lower cost production that the USA has to try to compete with. Only American's will pay the price of this, in both paying the tariffs and companies that export their products not being able to compete on the world stage due to higher production costs.
