I just saw a video of that interchange between Cornyn and Booker.  Booker has no shame at all.  He looked smug and proud of himself.  He should go far in the democrat party.

More than 400,000 documents have been released on Kavanaugh--more than twice as many as any previous Supreme Court nominee. This is nothing more than obstructionism by the Dems, something they excel at. Indeed, this is about all they're good for--obstructionism. They wish to undermine Trump at every turn and will do so even at the expense of the good of the country; they even have plans to reverse the tax cuts-something that anyone with any sense at all can see has benefitted the country!

GOP mocks Booker's 'Spartacus' moment

The Republican National Committee on Thursday mocked Sen. Cory Booker (D.N.J.) over his "I am Spartacus" declaration, tying it to the senator's potential presidential aspirations.

Booker had said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that he would release "committee confidential" documents related to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The New Jersey lawmaker joined a number of other Democrats on the third day of Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings in vowing to release the documents, which are supposed to be available only for the Senate panel.

Booker released documents involving Kavanaugh’s stance on racial profiling, while other Democrats threatened to release documents on other issues like abortion.

"I am right now, before your process is finished, I am going to release the email about racial profiling, and I understand the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate," Booker said at the hearing, acknowledging he would be "knowingly violating the rules."

“This is about the closest I’ll ever have to an ‘I am Spartacus’ moment,” Booker added, referencing the ancient Roman gladiator who led a rebellion, only to have each of his followers stand up and proclaim that they were in fact Spartacus after their capture in an effort to protect their leader.

The GOP tweeted out a video beginning with Booker’s quote and then cutting to the pivotal scene from the 1960 film “Spartacus” in which men proclaim they are Spartacus.

The video then cuts to a title reading, “…said every Democrat running in 2020.”

Booker, a first-term senator and former Newark mayor, is regularly floated a top Democratic presidential contender for 2020.

He is joined on the Judiciary Committee by other future potential Democratic candidates, including Sens. Kamala Harris (Calif.) and Amy Klobuchar (Minn.).

I can tell you when he was a mayor everyone including me, respected him. I loved the fact he would go out and shovel snow after a blizzard and helped clean up after hurricanes Irene and Sandy. He was approachable and he seemed interested in genuinely helping people, no matter what their politics were, their religion or race.

I think it’s a bright lights big city kinda thing, a reverse Mr Smith goes to Washington. I think he let everything go to his head. You know power corrupts? Newark is a cesspool again.

But he’s well spoken, handsome, young, on paper he’s got the goods to be a successful candidate. The fact that he’s from NJ and Trump is from NY will probably make him nothing more than a veep because they are too geographically close. Just my two cents.
