 A Palestinian resistance group responsible for launching incendiary kites and balloons toward Israel has denied that it had agreed to wind down its airborne attacks.

The group, called the Al-Zawari Unit, said in a statement on Wednesday that its members do not receive orders from any faction in the Gaza Strip.

The group is named after Muhammad al-Zawari, an aviation engineer who was assassinated near his home in Sfax, Tunisia, on December 15, 2016. Zawari, a senior operative of Hamas’s military wing Izzadin al-Qassam, commanded the terrorist group’s drone-manufacturing program.

I wish we had some footage of one of these idiots setting themselves on fire trying to light the kite. THAT would make my day.

Perhaps the Israeli defense forces could put the kibosh on this kind of activity by targeting the kite-launchers with missiles just as they try to get the kites off the ground. Kind of help themselves to "get the fire goin'..."

Not sure if the Israelis would be willing to "endanger civilians" that way (they're often too reserved about such things).

 An IDF aircraft on Thursday struck a Hamas terror cell in the southern Gaza Strip that was responsible for launching incendiary kites and balloons into Israel, the IDF spokesperson confirmed.

Palestinian reports stated that an aircraft attacked balloon perpetrators east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Hamas-run Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported that one Hamas officer was killed and three individuals were wounded in the strike. According to Palestinian sources, the officer killed was Abdel Karim Radwan, 38.
