More than 228,000 pounds of Spam recalled over found metal objects

The Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspect Service (FSIS) has recalled more than 228,000 pounds of Hormel Spam after four consumers found metal fragments in their products, CBS News reported on Monday.

The agency said “minor oral injuries” were reported but there has been no additional reports of illness or serious injury.

The FSIS was first notified of the metal objects on Friday and have since recalled canned chicken and pork produced at the company’s Fremont, Neb., plant.
