What is dissociative identity disorder?

Dissociative identity disorder is when an individual has two or more distinct personalities or identities. It was previously known as multiple personality disorder.

A person with dissociative identity disorder (DID) often has a "main personality," which may be passive, dependent, and depressed.

I definitely have two personalities. No doubt about it. Not only are they not the same guy, they are not even related.

There is sober guy (now).
Then there is drunk guy (possibly this weekend).

Sober guy has spent a ton of time, money, and effort, taking care of drunk guy and getting him out of trouble. Fortunately, drunk guy is getting old and weak. He cannot do much damage these days. And that is all for the good.
