Pelosi: I and ‘Large Number’ of Dems Will Oppose Spending Deal Without Guarantee of DREAMers Vote

by Ian Hanchett7 Feb 20182,616

During a speech on the House floor on Wednesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stated that unless there is a commitment from House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to vote on legislation to protect DREAMers, the spending bill “does not have my support, nor does it have the support of a large number of members of our caucus.”

Pelosi said, “Why should we in the House be treated in such a humiliating way, when the Republican Senate leader has given that opportunity, in a bipartisan way, to his membership.”

I call BS.  Democrats were fully onboard with DACA up until the point where Trump jumped onboard, too.  At which point Democrats promptly abandoned ship.  Because for Democrats, opposing Trump is more important than any DACA bill they could ever hope to get.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

I agree with you on the obstruction, but disagree about DACA. The Rats don't want a deal. They want a never ending flow of illegal immigrants. The children of these illegals will vote for them no matter what. If a wall gets built that flow of illegals slows dramatically.
