FBI Agents Association on memo: We won't allow 'partisan politics' to distract us

The FBI Agents Association on Friday released a statement saying the agency's rank-and-file would “not allow partisan politics to distract us” after the release of a previously classified GOP memo alleging abuse of government surveillance powers by the Justice Department.

“The men and women of the FBI put their lives on the line every day in the fight against terrorists and criminals because of their dedication to our country and the Constitution,” group president Thomas O’Connor said in the statement. “The American people should know that they continue to be well-served by the world’s preeminent law enforcement enforcement agency.”

“FBI Special Agents have not, and will not, allow partisan politics to distract us from our solemn commitment to our mission.”

More convincing would be a statement of disgust, about their higher management ranks, over not better policing themselves.

Does the FBI have an IG?

The DOJ IG report will likely be more damning than this 4 page Nunes memo.

I think all agencies have an IG.

Another question is why was this memo classified?    What bearing on national security does any of this have especially to the point it outweighs the fact that the FBI, DOJ, NSA and CIA were actively working to overthrow the President.

The entire FISA process is classified, I think. It is based on national security.

It was abused, and notwithstanding spinning, said abuse is probably against the law.
