OMB Director Mulvaney: Growth, Not Spending Cuts, Will Solve Debt, Deficit Problem

(CNSNews.com) – “I've come to the realization that Washington is not going to solve the debt problem, the deficit problem, through spending,” White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said on Sunday.

The former congressman from South Carolina said he came to Washington in 2011, hoping to cut spending; but he quickly realized the political will to do that just wasn’t there.

Everybody wants to cut spending, except for their "pet program."

He is 100% correct in every regard!

He's correct in regards to no political will to cut spending.

Wrong to assume growth without real spending cuts will take care of debt and deficits

I respectfully disagree in toto!  IF we got our own house in order with regard to tax and fiscal policy it would happen in short order!

Nope.  The problem with spending is not only the amount, but the attitude that perpetual deficit spending is acceptable.

We can't grow our way out of debt if we'll just spend the additional tax revenues (and more).
