They stood for the anthem.
Knelt during the prayer.

They showed unity with each other without disrespecting the anthem.

Is nothing good enough for anyone?

It was good enough for me.  I may have to start watching football now (dammit).  Only certain teams, of course.

That's not quite how it went down according to reports. They didn't kneel in prayer but as a "statement of equality" whatever the heck that is.  I wouldn't know. I wasn't watching. And I wont be on Sunday, or Monday, or THursday night either.  I was a big football fan. Now not so much.

They stood for the NA, and that was the main issue.  But as for all of the naysaying here...

whatev. floats yer boat.  I don't care much for football, but it is one of the last American traditions that the left is busily, 24/7 trying to destroy.  Looks like they have a lot of help here.

The NFL destroyed itself.  They have no one else to blame. When you let spoiled children run the store that is what happens.

That arm locking to me is like a grade C, it's not an F like some of these teams are getting with the kneel downs but far from ideal.  Apparently the Pokes like the Cards did do that.  So, now, I'm not sure if there is a team left that straight-out, conducted themselves admirably. I don't expect perfection though.

It sure seems like this is contrived by someone behind the scenes. It's unreal that they would act this way. Baseball had that one guy who did this for the Athletics but so far, I don't think anything else.

Every single one who took a knee or stayed off the field should be fined according to the NFL rules: The specific NFL rule pertaining to the National Anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook. It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. ... “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition... ...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Exactly, if the NFL enforced their rules, we would not be dealing with any of this.

This is what happens when you appoint an SJW as Commissioner.

Baseball, just 162 games for each team for this stuff to happen if it catches on there. I certainly hope not and that one Athletic already did it.

Then again, I have seen some things totally ignored in sports, the sportswriters, etc. see it and just feel it's not worth reporting on.

This whole thing just sort of built up with the NFL.

You are wrong. See here.

Quoting from the link:

They didn't follow the proper protocol, therefore they showed disrespect.

You can say there have always been players who didn't follow the proper protocol, and you would be right. However, in the past, I could chalk that up to ignorance or apathy, and not a deliberate attempt to p!ss on my values and beliefs. I no longer give them benefit of that doubt.

Buh-bye, NFL.   :seeya:

That's the straight up truth right there.

Unhappy about the supposed racism of police?  Fine, but don't disrespect every one of your fellow citizens to make your statement.

Unhappy about POTUS calling out your stupid behaviour?  Fine, but don't disrespect every one of your fellow citizens to make your statement.

I'm pretty unhappy about a whole lot of things that are going on in this country, but I don't express myself by taking a leak on my neighbor's house.

I'm not sure why they did what they did other than to be part of the conversation.  Dumb.  At least they stood for the anthem.  I will neither praise nor criticize this.  Whatever.  It seems pointless.  Some did appear to be bowing in prayer.  That I can praise.

I read some Twitter thread posts where people were trying to say fan complaints were just white people trying to tell the black man what he can and cannot do.  Oh my.  Some of those commenters need mental health services.  Honestly they are playing a game of "heads I win, tails you lose."  We are suppose to love everything they do or we are racist.  Even then we are probably racist in their wild imaginations.  It makes me want nothing to do with them.  Please go away.  I don't like their game where I lose just because they have a victim complex.

They can sing the anthem and have their hands over their hearts, and I won't give a ____, because I'm not coming back.

Same here. The inmates are running the asylum, and the owners/managers are going along.

We stand to honor those that helped secure our freedom and safety, by their actions and sacrifices.

I heard on the news somewhere, where a player or someone else, was saying "We aren't protesting America or the Military"; that may not be what they intend but that is how it is coming off. That's why this is coming off like a kick in the gut.

Locking arms still seems to be showing solidarity; is that solidarity to the NFL? All of the players?  Or particularly to those who taking a knee? It seems the latter... that's why locking arms doesn't go over to well with me.  I guess one can make the case that they are not being total morons in doing that.

NFL players association or who is guiding this?

It's not totally coordinated, since Pittsburgh seemed to blow it badly.

Prayer? I don't think they pray with the crowd at an NFL game.

You're right!  They don't!
