I don't know what the law says about the use of force to stop a fleeing criminal, so I have no idea if this charge has any good foundation.

Assuming she's telling the truth, though: I approve, and no jury in the world will convict her.

The 19 second video is at the Twitter link.

I had no idea the title would be so truncated. But I like it.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
For some reason twitter vids won't play on this machine.

In this state, she might not be charged for running him down. "Pursuing and accidentally hit the perp" would be the story that would keep her from being charged with assault at the very least. Likely get a 'not guilty' out of a jury, prosecutorial discretion might keep it from going that far, and everything would depend on the LEO on the scene.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

That one gives me an error 5 'video cannot be found'. I wonder if they pulled it?

The link works. It looks like the same problem you've been having before. Did you try a different DNS service, like Googles?

No, I didn't. How would I go about that?

No, I didn't. How would I go about that?

Assuming you're using Windows 7 or similar, go to the control panel network settings (Network and Sharing Center Icon) and on the left side click "Change Adapter Settings" then select the physical adapter that is being used for your Internet connection. Then click on "properties", scroll down and click on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "properties" again. That will show the IP address and DNS settings for your computer. In the lower part of the dialog window, select "Use the following DNS server address:" and enter below that 8.8.8.8 and Alternate 8.8.4.4. Then click "OK" multiple times to get out of the configuration settings and see if the Video works. If it does, then you can change the DNS source on your router - but you'll have to follow the directions for your particular router to do it. If you change it on your router all the computers connected to it should use the new DNS service automatically.

Hey, I had one of the Sinclair Z80 machines... The white one...

*Sniff* I was a Commodore man.

And Citibank actually had a ROM cartridge for my machine that let me check my accounts. Not that they were worth checking but that's beside the point. That was in the 1970s.

I'm still on XP.

Go to Control panel and select "Network Connections". Double click on "Local Area Connection" and then click on "Properties". Click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" to highlight it and then click on "Properties". Then on the lower section of the properties window select "Use the following DNS server addresses:" and enter "8.8.8.8" and "8.8.4.4".

I did that part, but can't monkey with the router, (no directions). SSDD.  Thanks for your time, though.

My XP machine is XP Professional with service pack 3. I was able to view the video on it using the Google Chrome browser. I was NOT able to view the video with Firefox on that computer. It returned the message that the video "could not be found" just like you've been saying.

That may be the problem then. I use Firefox.
