He may be known as the 43rd president and George W Bush to some, but to his wife Laura, he's just 'Bushy' when the couple are at home at their Texas ranch. The former president also says the Secret Service won't let him drive on public roads.

Jay Leno went to George and Laura Bush's property in Crawford, Texas for the season premiere of Leno's CNBC show 'Jay Leno's Garage.' Leno's first episode of the season gave viewers a look at how the former first lady and president spend their time at their ranch.

Leno also discovered that once you become president you are forbidden from driving on public roads, and that rule extends throughout the rest of a former president's life.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
Not being able to drive would make me crazy.
There are a myriad of people in cars on the road who cannot drive and they make me crazy :chairbang:

I kinda understand that rule. Imagine if the President or a former President is on the public road stuck in traffic.

Oh yeah.

I remember liberals whining about Americans in Humvees escorting high ranking officials shoving Iraqi cars out of the way. They did it so they wouldn't become sitting ducks.

I'm pretty sure that the Secret Service will have some sort of rule with the driverless cars.  The rule, no way in hell you are going in a driverless car.

My husband really enjoys Leno's show.  I've watched it with him, and it's kind of interesting.  I like the segment where Leno has to guess which of three valuable classic cars is most expensive.
