 Call it an unfulfilled Sandy Hook Promise.

A nonprofit led by families riven by the 2012 Newtown, Conn. massacre booted NBC anchor Megyn Kelly — under fire for her soon-to-air interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has branded the shooting a hoax — from hosting its annual Washington gala on Wednesday.

“Sandy Hook Promise cannot support the decision by Megyn or NBC to give any form of voice or platform to Alex Jones and have asked Megyn Kelly to step down as our Promise Champion Gala host,” Nicole Hockley, the foundation’s co-founder and mom of slain 6-year-old Dylan Hockley, said Monday night.

J.P. Morgan Chase pulled local TV and online advertisements from NBC until after Kelly’s interview with Jones airs, according to The Wall Street Journal.

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.’s chief marketing officer, Kristin Lemkau, tweeted on Monday: "As an advertiser, I’m repulsed that @megynkelly would give a second of airtime to someone who says Sandy Hook and Aurora are hoaxes."

It was A-OK when she was going after Trump, but the long knives are starting to come out for Ms. Kelly.

Too late, NBC's learning that Megyn is all about Megyn, nothing more.

The Schadenfreude is rich in this story, and there's undoubtedly more to come. The Murdoch brothers know they dodged a multi-million dollar bullet by letting her walk.

In my opinion, the Sandy Hook "hoax" ranks right up there with "the Holocaust didn't happen", and 9/11 being an inside US government job engineered by George Bush.

I'll never understand the hostility for Megyn Kelly.  I want to think her sex doesn't have anything to do with it, because I've always defended conservative men when feminists/liberals ragged on them.   But then I remember the election, when some guys patted my head after Trump's p-grabbing tape and said, come on little lady, it's only a little sexual harassment, and we have more important things to worry about.

She's out for herself?  Good for her!  So is anyone who's reached her level in their chosen profession.  Again, would y'all say that about a male journalist?  Be honest, now.

Tomi Lauren is a dumb twit who probably never read a book unless it was assigned to her.   

I can't call myself a fan of Kelly; I'm pretty neutral where she's concerned.   But like you say, I realize she earned her way to the top.  I also think she's a pretty fair, hard- hitting journalist, and I think we could use a lot more of those.

I fall pretty much into the same camp. I don't watch enough of her to really have a strong opinion of her; from what I have seen, she's really just a run-of-the-mill national TV news host.

Nobody really had a problem with her until that debate. I understand it. It's the "alt-right" deciding to put together an enemies list, and when Trump overreacted to her line of questioning, they fell in lockstep.

I agree. I don't care about Kelly or Jones but I do care that her interviewing him could be her undoing. Is Alex Jones any kookier than any number of lefty kooks blowing foul air on TV?

Most of us were watching the debates, she went ugly for everyone on that stage. Trump and Cruz especially.  In the after debate conversation she later admitted Cruz was right about his immigration answer, but the damage was done.

As other has said, she is about me me me almost as much as someone else we know.

Every so often I give Alex 10 minutes of listening to see if he has gained any more credibility than the last time I listened to the kook. Last time was to hear his opinion on Cruz and his mistresses (National Enquirer crap)... He didn't disappoint, he was as kooky as I last remembered him. Don't think he deserves another listening. Once a nut, odds are they will always remain a nut.

Why do you think so?

Well, I can see I'm pinned down to justify my opinion, so in all honesty I know only what I've read, heard and seen in interviews and online presentations.  I found her actions grating on my sensibilities when she was doing the debates, and she came across TO ME on Fox as a self-centered person, more interested in HER ratings and HER image than holding an unbiased discussion.  Perhaps it's merely a quirk of her personality that I find unnerving, and if I was unjust to her with my outspoken opinions, a quirk of MY personality that I find difficult not to expose occasionally, then I admit my guilt and offer my apologies to any I offended.  I will, however, stand by my original opinion until I am shown a new truth, but I do see a need to tone it down a bit.

As far as knowing her better than Tomi Lauren...I have to say that's true, because I have no idea who Tomi Lauren is, much less her reading habits.
