Susan Rice says no easy fix for homegrown terror, Trump travel ban only makes it worse
Washington Times, Jun 4, 2017, S.A. Miller

Former U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice said Sunday there are no easy way to stop homegrown terrorists and President Trump’s proposed travel ban targeting Muslims is counterproductive.

“We need to recognize that there will be homegrown extremists in all of our countries and there is no easy way to predict and defeat every single one of them,” Susan Rice said on ABC’s “This Week” in response to the deadly terrorist attack Saturday night in London.

Ms. Rice, who also served as President Barack Obama’s national security advisor, said that to protect Americans from such attacks, which appeared to be carried out by radical Islamic terrorists, the U.S. must “strengthen our intelligence, our law enforcement, and work together with critical partners like the United Kingdom.”

“There’s really no evidence to suggest that by banning Muslims or banning Muslims from a particular set of six countries that we would make ourselves here in the United States safer,” said Ms. Rice. “And that’s, I believe, one of the major reasons why the courts thus far have been very skeptical of the travel ban.”

It is not a proposal to "ban Muslims" and the ones who carry out these deeds are not "homegrown". Susan Rice has already proven herself to be a liar of the first order and also, a fool.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

The only way the ban works is if the terrorists are too dumb to realize they can simply get forged passports and travel to the US from another country that isn't on the ban list.  Otherwise, the travel ban is about as useful as a hailing a leaking boat with a sieve.

Susan Rice and her stupid attitude is why terrorism is able to flourish.

and for the terrorist training camps in our states..............

You act like it's an "either/or" situation.  It isn't.  We can and should consider controlling both.

Unfortunately, the reality is.... with the idiot left whining level in this country now.... it will probably require a nuked US city to get people on board with what really needs to be done (similar to steps taken after the Pearl Harbor attack regarding immigrants in the US from enemy nations.)

The countries that are on the ban list are on it because we know those countries have no effective way of screening applicants for flight.

If the terrorist goes to another country, he would be subject to more strict screening.  It's possible that he could get by that screening but at least we would be making it harder.

If I thought the ban would work I would support it.  I think it is similar to gun bans.  Criminals don't follow laws.  They can get weapons and terrorist can get in regardless of bans.  The ban won't work.

I don't think it is similar to gun bans at all.  There will be terrorists who will manage to get it but a lot fewer with the travel ban.

I think we should try all options available and stop whining about how this or that thing won't work.

So is it your position, the US is incapable of identifying, forged passports and other documents?

Is it your position, the professionals advising Trump on the selected travel suspension, are not competent?

In other words, you claim to be smarter, more knowledgeable, on processing admissions?

Of course the fix is easy.

It is called the moslem Removal Act. No moslems..no moslem terrorist.

So why have any controls for any person.  Let's just open the borders up.

Because she thinks no one has the b*lls to prosecute her. And she's probably right.

I've never seen a post reply that had less relevance to what I posted.  Congrats.

I can think of one easy way to predict them.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
