NATO Declares Major Cyber Attack Now Grounds For War
June 01, 2017
(WASHINGTON, DC) A persistent and devastating attack could trigger what is known as Article 5, NATO’s collective defense measure, the officials told delegates at the International Conference on Cyber Conflict (CyCon) in Estonia Wednesday, according to Defense News. The invocation of Article 5 could theoretically cause the alliance to go to war in defense of a member state.
“Although many of the cyberattacks that we see fall below a level in their seriousness that could trigger NATO’s Article 5, it is plausible that a cyberspace event of great magnitude could take place that might lead to the triggering of Article 5 in special circumstances,” said Catherine Lotrionte, director of Georgetown University’s CyberProject.

NATO will never fight a war by itself (that is, without the US providing the majority of the troops and funding).
They aren't going to war with anybody, except perhaps the good native Western/Christian citizens of their own nations...

Yup. There is no end to the number of countries willing to start something then hide behind our skirts. Unfortunately for us we are a moral country that will always help an ally in trouble even if the check for their defense bounced (or never appeared). So far in our history we have usually done the right thing by our allies no matter the circumstances, and I have little doubt we will cont to do so at least when the dems are not in office. Unfortunately there are those that will take advantage of our generosity and loyalty
