Even though they HAVE done so numerous times over the last 7 years!

When they knew it couldn't possibly happen.   They were deliberately playing us for suckers.  They were conning us.

A lot of us thought so at the time,  but subsequent events pretty well prove it.

I write about that constantly.   The problem was not in the making of that promise,  the problem was in the breaking of it.

It was the only way possible that George HW Bush could have thrown away the next election,  and the day they announced it I was screaming at the radio that this was the biggest most bone-headed political blunder he could have made.

You would thik he would have known better.  I was throwing thing at the teevee!

That sort of misses the entire point.  Why would they be punished for the colossally stupid thing that HW did?   George HW Bush bore the consequences of that stupidity,   and We the Sane people of America,  were forced to suffer through  8 years of greasy snake Clinton.

George HW Bush threw away a legacy.  He did incalculable damage by breaking that promise.   Everything from Iran, North Korea,  911,  the 2008 financial collapse,  all of that can be laid at the feet of George HW Bush for breaking his word.

 :amen: Couldn't agree more!

Yep!  I'm guilty of falling for it myself but I'm over that now for sure.

Yes they did @Bigun ... but they did so knowing if it passed the Senate, Obama would veto it.

Yep!  And I've grown beyond tired of their sophistry!

How's the lesser of two evils thing working... And I'm not talking about Trump...

When there's a party that represents me, I'll vote for it. I'm partyless these days.

The story painted for the public is the Republicans and Democrats can't agree on anything and that is the problem.

The real problem is what they agree upon.
