President Trump has told Republican leaders that he's prepared to play hardball with congressional conservatives to pass the GOP healthcare bill, including by supporting the 2018 primary challengers of any Republican who votes against the bill.

Sources told the Washington Examiner that Trump made that threat in a White House meeting on Tuesday with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and other members of the House GOP whip team that helps line up votes.

Trump's threat is one that could resonate. Most of the Republicans who oppose the GOP's American Health Care Act represent ruby red districts that strongly support Trump and his agenda.

Trump wants a smooth transition from Obamacare to the new plan. There are many people covered under Obamacare that previously had no coverage. Trump does not want to yank the rug out from them and leave them suddenly uncovered.

Also, remember that this is not the final version of the bill, not by a longshot. If Trump doesn’t like the final version, he’ll either veto it or issue a signing statement.

So basically the people that are getting free stuff can't be cutoff and the parts that were added to force others to pay for it are not popular so we'll get rid of the that part. But only sort of... Instead of making it clear how others are paying for it we'll spread it around to the general taxpayer flow of things...

I've seen this play before and know how its always ended in the past. To expect different this time is a bit naive.

   Cruz is safe, Hatch is gonna run AGAIN, Heller of Nevada is probably in trouble and I hope like all hell Flake get's kicked to the curb.
