At least two manager level Secret Service officials were fired and escorted from the White House complex, according to a report by reporter Steve Clemons.

The Secret Service has been accused of slow-walking an investigation of an agent based in Denver who publicly stated she would not ‘take a bullet’ for President Donald Trump.

UPDATE: The Secret Service has branded the report by reporter Steve Clemons that at least two managers were forced to resign overnight as “absolutely false”, the Washington Examiner reported. Friday morning.

Clemons corrected and clarified his reports to now state that officials with White House cyber security were forced out. His new tweets have been added at the end of this article.

Update:  The two dismissed were not Secret Service.  Rather they were out of the CISO (Chief Information Security Office)

I gotta say I find the whole 'fake news' thing amusing.

If people had listened...not heard but LISTENED to a lot of us ex journo types when we said 'do not trust anything you read, ever' from the media, people might notice that they have been giving you 'Fake News" for many, many years.

The only difference I see is that no one put a buzz word on it till recently. If someone wants to tell me what difference in any capacity, there is for example, between Rathergate, The 2000 election coverage, Mike Mann's Hockey Stick/Hide the Decline and the modern 'Fake News' pumped out by the internet sites, I'm all ears.

I never did understand what his purpose was. Or 'who' he was.  To my knowledge he was just a regular guy posting on the site. As a 'spokesman' he didn't speak, or post, a lot.

All I can say is that I used to enjoy the heck out of it when Humblegunner called out the posters who fawned all over him.

I can't say for sure, but I imagine that Jim used him as a spokesman once or twice, years ago when the site had relevance, and continued to refer to him as such.  That kind of thing helped feed the notion that members were part of some special, elite group.

I'm not impressed with authors much either.

Tony Snow did impress me because he was so normal and down to earth. He was smart enough to abandon FR when he became white house press secretary.

I've heard only good things about Tony Snow.  He was one of those guys you could look at and tell he was decent.  I saw some thread from years ago, where a couple of Freepers were arguing with him about something---can't recall what.  There were a lot of removed posts, and I was told someone threatened him.

I can think of an author who wrote a book about Washington.  He ended up going insane.
