NBA Players Vow To BAN Visit To Trump White House After Championship

Perhaps most of us would have been surprised a few years ago if big named million dollar athletes decided not to stand up for our National Anthem or perhaps wore a “Black Lives Matter” tee-shirt or raised a black power fist in defiance, at an opening sporting event, or witnessed a celebrity Hollywood icon threatening a presidential candidate with a vulgar display of speech and physical violence…however not anymore!

If anything we’ve witnessed within a few short years America becoming a crude, uncivil society, where the so-called “elites” whether in Hollywood, in the mainstream media, or in the world of sports, no longer subscribe to civil discourse or care very much in promoting a positive or uplifting image for others to emulate.

Well, that's certainly their choice, but I'm sure these players don't speak for the entire NBA.

The danger for the NBA is that some people will believe they do represent the NBA, particularly if they are champions, so there will be a downward spiral in viewership, similar to what is happening to the NFL.

What is it about being good at running around a room or a field chasing a ball that rates a White House visit in the first place? Talk about bloody entitled....

It's time to disengage the president from sports and  entertainmenr.  Obama inserted himself unnecessarily into our leisure time, imposing his politics upon sports, and making our entertainment unpalatable.  The president should be working, leading the country, not posing for photos with sports figures and meddling into their operations.  These guys should stay home and the president should stay focused on his job.

No interest in it. From the looks of the players, don't seem to be folks with whom I share any cultural or intellectual connections...   ;)
