President-elect Donald Trump’s children say they want no official role in their dad’s administration, but his team has reportedly asked the White House about getting them top-secret security clearances.

The Trump transition team has asked the White House to explore the possibility of getting his adult children top secret security clearances, CBS News reported.

The report did not name which children he’s seeking for the clearance for, but his oldest kids, Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, were often on the campaign trail for him and served as his advisers.

While government rules bar Trump from giving his children White House jobs, the report said they could be designated unpaid national security advisers.

They would need to fill out security questionnaires and submit to background checks to receive the government clearances.

Trump’s sons — Don Jr. is 38 and Eric 32 — have said they would continue to work in the family’s Trump Organization business.

Ivanka, 35, said she would not join the administration in “a formal capacity,” but was “very passionate about certain issues.”

After the report broke, a member of Donald Trump's transition team denied such a request was made, according to PolicyMic.

I'm not sure I see an issue here.  Wouldn't it just make sense to have them vetted anyway?  Even if they aren't formally employed aren't they still likely to be exposed to some classified stuff?  Better to get them on the program now than after the democrats discover that one of the kids might have seen something classified.

Even if it was real, I don't see the issue. They would probably need some sort of high level clearance to access the White House and other areas their dad goes. I'm sure Chelsea, Barbara and Jenna, and all the others had the same thing.

They were children, as in under age.  Trump's 3 eldest are adults who are going to be running the Trump business in a blind trust.  The possibility of conflicts is substantial.  Don't you think the Democrats will make the much of the appearance of corruption?  Would we not do likewise if a Democrat President gave high level clearances to his adult children who were running his business interest in a blind trust.  For instance, Chelsea Clinton?  Remember,we are going to own whatever Trump does as President.
