Campaigning for his wife in Michigan, Clinton unloaded on the impact Obama’s signature legislation has had on insurance and the insured.

“You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden, 25 million more people have health care, and then the people are out there busting it for 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half.

“And it’s the craziest thing in the world,” Clinton said.

But he wasn’t done.

He also told the Michigan audience, “If you were on the other side of this, if you were the insurer, and you say, ‘gosh, I’ve only got 2,000 people in this little pool.’

“Eighty percent of the insurance costs every year come from 20% of the people,” Clinton said.

“If I get unlucky in the pool,” Clinton said, continuing to talk like an insurance company, “I’ll lose money.”

“So they over charge you just to make sure. In the good years, they make a profit out of the people least able to pay it. It doesn’t make any sense,” Clinton said.

“The insurance model doesn’t work here. It’s not like life insurance, it’s not like casualty, it’s not like predictive flood.

“It does not work,” Clinton declared.

It's telling that the schmuck waits until October, 2016 to voice this opinion, isn't it?

Then why wouldn't Hillary come sprinting out with this 'idea' herself?

She hasn't said jack about Obamacare the entire campaign.

Although I believe they all want a single payer system, I don't believe it the plan was to have it built on the failure of ObamaCare.

I think the plan was to have Obamacare work just enough, but have some "issues" that would require a government fix till we eventually got there.

Now both Bill Clinton and BHO know that Obamacare has been a failure and they're running against it and blaming others
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Single-Payer to the rescue!

Single payer is the first step.   Obamacare is bankrupting small hospitals forcing them to sell out to large health systems.   The eventual end is governmental takeover of the failing health systems.

The specter of "Hillarycare" hasn't been forgotten. Except by Bill.

Right, but that would be an absolute disaster.  Medicaid reimbursements are way under market, and are essentially subsidized by being able to charge full freight to those who have health insurance.  But if everyone goes on Medicaid, then all the reimbursements would be too low, and there would be no subsidy from those with insurance.  The health care system would essentially collapse.

Now, that might fit with the goal of single payer, but taking the entire country over a true health care cliff just to convince us we really need single payer is an enormous political risk.

What risk? It's not as if there is any real opposition to the Democrats anymore.
