Tea Party firebrand Michele Bachmann says she is advising Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on foreign policy.


The former Minnesota congresswoman attended a fundraiser in the state for Trump on Saturday, where she revealed to the press that she has his ear on foreign policy.

“He also recognizes there is a threat around the world, not just here in Minnesota, of radical Islam,” she said, according to MPR News. “I wish our President Obama also understood the threat of radical Islam and took it seriously.”

In Monday night's Republican presidential debate in Tampa, Fla., Bachmann, R-Minn., slammed Gov. Rick Perry for his 2007 executive order mandating that all sixth-grade Texas girls be required to get vaccinations against HPV, the virus linked to cervical cancer. Bachmann claimed that Perry's mandate was a "government injection through executive order" and a "violation of a liberty interest." She also charged that Perry was motivated to order the vaccinations by campaign contributions from Merck, the maker of the HPV vaccine, Gardasil.

Perry said that the 2007 order was "a mistake," as he did earlier this year. But he also defended his decision, saying that it was an attempt to protect young women against cervical cancer.

"I am always going to err on the side of life," Perry said.

The Texas legislature voted to override Perry's order, and the law was never enacted.

Bachmann continued her discussion of HPV vaccines Tuesday morning in an interview on NBC's "Today" show, when she described an encounter with a Florida woman after Monday's debate.

"She told me that her little daughter took that vaccine, that injection, and she suffered from mental retardation thereafter," Bachmann said. "There is no second chance for these little girls if there is any dangerous consequences to their bodies.

Bachmann related something told to her by a mother and was against the government mandating vaccines.

How unfair we can be to others. 

That said, she's a bit hawkish actually.

I thought at the time that I liked her.  But why would she sell out to Trump?  I posted the quotes because Trump and Bachman are polar opposites  I have no idea why Christians are selling out to Trump.

As so many people seem to think; they know what Hillary is going to do, and not certain what Trump will do.  If Bachmann actually believes Trump is serious about not letting refugees and immigrants into this country from known areas of terrorists; perhaps he's hit a 'hot button' with Bachmann on this issue and feels she can be helpful. Maybe she feels vindicated in a way because people sneered at here just like they're sneering at Trump. ?? I don't really know. Just like I was quite surprised when Sessions endorsed Trump - Trump's verbal statements of opposing amnesty, deportation and building a wall falls right in with what Sessions has stood for. 

They are trusting what Trump says.  Maybe in sitting down and talking to him they feels he's sincere.  Hard to tell.

Falwell was another one whose endorsement of Trump surprised me.

But in reality, the only logical reason that I can think of is that Trump paid them well.
