PETA Wants $6 Million House For Free To Turn Into ‘Fish-Empathy’ Museum

In the 1970’s the founder of the Zebco fishing tackle company built a house in Tulsa, OK in the shape of a fishing reel. The current owners of the 12,620 square foot mansion have recently listed the property for $6 million. Because Zebco fishing gear has been used to “murder” millions of fish and fish are people too, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) thinks the owners should just give them the house so they can turn it into a “fish-empathy” museum.
Tulsa World reports that PETA President Ingrid Newkirk issued a statement begging the owners to donate the house to the whacko organization.
“A fishing reel–shaped space is the perfect place for an empathy museum, where people could [go] to appreciate fish and understand why we shouldn’t snag, suffocate and slaughter them. The more that people learn how clever, social and sensitive fish are, the less likely they’ll be to stick a hook or a fork in them,” wrote Newkirk.
