Senator Ben Sasse Open Letter To Trump Supporters
« on: March 08, 2016, 07:02:42 am »
This letter needs to be read in its entirety so I won't excerpt.  Great letter.  I have read other things from this Senator.  I have to say I really like him.  This is the kind of man we need in government to represent Conservatives.  VP?

Michelle Malkin also delivered a great speech at CPAC

Ted Cruz at CPAC

It really comes down to if we want a dictator or president.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Senator Sasse needs to take a look at reality.

Byron York: Trump Exposed ‘Enormous Difference’ Between Republican Elitist and Voters

Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Byron York of the Washington Examiner said the campaign of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has shown an “enormous difference between Republican elitist, based mostly in Washington, and Republican voters on issues.”

York said, “That could be the most fundamental question of this campaign, because what the Trump campaign has shown, even if we were to withdraw today, what the Trump campaign has shown, and to a lesser extent the Cruz campaign, are the enormous difference between Republican elitist, based mostly in Washington, and Republican voters on issues of taxes, on issues of entitlement reform, on immigration, trade, on foreign military. On all of these things Trump has laid out positions that are anathema to many people in sort of the political, think-tanking elite world of Washington and he’s winning the race by doing it.”

Host Tucker Carlson agreed, saying ” It’s unbelievable how totally unaware of who their own voters are in the Republican party turned out. I think it’s also true on the Democratic side.”

Dear Senator

Resign today. Resign from the party. Run for the job as an Independent. That is the ONLY path open if principal, not petulance, is motivating you.

Sorry  Senator but this is the behavior of a petulant child who side is losing an election. There is nothing in the least principled about it. You do not get to use the party to advance your career then stab it in the back when your side is losing an election.

If Donald Trump rolls with 34% through June and can't get to 1,237 delegates, he has no more right to the nomination than anyone else.

Sanctimony is not a very attractive feature, senator. This is a primary election, a contest of ideas and personalities that Donald Trump happens to be winning. Sorry your side is losing.

But, if it'll make you feel any better you can cry me a river.

In any event, no, thank you, Benny-boy. I'm voting for Trump -- and will enjoy putting that in your elite pious face.

If the Republican Party should fracture and Madam Hillary is elected, the blame will be on you and your elite buddies' attitudes, words and actions.

Donnie winning on ideas?  Please.  He's winning on mostly empty rhetoric, policies so unworldly they could never be implemented, and a mass of internal contradictions that makes the Gordon knot a straight piece of string. Or was his threat that he could force the US military to carry out illegal orders a serious idea?

But it is in a Presidential candidate? Listen to Trump lately? It's his way or you are a nasty, lying, little loser. His words, not mine.

Ted Cruz is the definition of sanctimony. When you look up sanctimonious in the dictionary there's a picture of Ted Cruz.

Sorry, I'm not voting for National Preacher, nor are most people in a general election. Ted Cruz could pull it off and be our nominee. Problem is he can't win the general election.

Don't you even wonder a little bit what was in the interview about how Donny is going to negotiate?

You would think that his supporters would want an insight to what he really believes on their core issues.
I hope they find a way to get this out in the open and shed some light on Trumps thinking as shown in his
book.....

That has nothing to do with my post. curious minds would like to know trumps true position on illegal immigrants already here and what he would do, unfiltered by his "Art of  Deal" approach where he tells the people what they want to hear to get their support.

Did you bother to check the link? All the candidates have their say.

Of course I checked the link. Did you bother to read my post? I would like to see Trump's positions as recorded in an unfiltered interview with the New York Times, not what he has stated in public just to get the nomination.

Yes, I read it. Here it is; 'You would think that his supporters would want an insight to what he really believes on their core issues.

The NYT? Why give a leftwing rag an interview? You never mentioned the NYT . You think Trump is the only candidate saying things in public just to get the nomination? Rubio tried and shot himself in the foot. Denigrating Trump isn't going to secure the nomination for anyone nor will it sit well with the millions of Trump enthusiasts.

From what I've heard and read, Trump supports sending illegals home and if they have criminal records never allowing them back, supports the 2nd Amendment, trade on a level playing field, eliminating some government departments and making the US more business friendly. What's wrong with wanting to make America great again?

Donald Trump is putting together a winning coalition for the general election of republicans, conservatives, independents and Reagan democrats, and yet the sanctimony squad wants to brush aside all these new republican voters Trump is attracting to the GOP as not sufficiently conservative.  "We can't have those folks voting for us."

And, at this particular time in the primary race to the convention...please tell us why an ABC (cough - George Stephanopoulos) poll should be taken seriously?

Ned Bush is now his finance manager. In other words CRUZ has gone full RINOGOPe and is bought and paid for by the DONORS. Sad thing is he will still and try to sell the OUTSIDER thing and the CRUSBOTS will buy it. CRUZ is being used and if by some chance successful the RINOGOPe will drop him immediately. He has to know that since everyone else does.   **nononono*

How can we blame Ted Cruz for 'using' the Establishment to reach the finish line?

It's more an indication of how desperate the GOPe really is, to wrap their hopes around Cruz.

In his case, the GOPe is the frog....and Teddy is the scorpion.

The problem with Sissy's letter is it is weak on concrete reasons not to support Trump.  The primary emphasis is that Trump is dividing America.  Dividing America?  That is false talking point of the democrats and one they have used repeatedly against republicans in several elections.   America is terribly divided and has been for some time.  By echoing the DNC's talking points, I understand where Sissy's loyalties lie.
