Creationist Ken Ham: The State Has Created 'The Church of Evolution With Darwin As The High Priest'

Ken Ham, a biologist and supporter of young Earth creationism, said evolution is a “belief,” not a “theory” -- a “fairy tale” for people who “try to explain life without God” -- and he added that the secular State has established a church, the “Church of Evolution, with Darwin as the High Priest,” and teachers and professors as “priests” who push the Darwin religion in the schools.

In an interview on VCY America on Feb. 10, two days before the international Darwin Day, host Jim Schneider said to Ken Ham, “I was disturbed in my spirit to hear we have House now and Senate resolutions declaring Feb. 12 to be Darwin Day [1], and as much as that grieved me, it grieved me even more though to see that churches are doing the very same thing.”

Ken Ham, president of Answers in Genesis [2] and founder of the Creation Museum [3], said, “Churches are doing the very same thing.  And think about this: At the same time, they’re trying to throw nativity scenes out of public places, take Christ out of Christmas, and then they claim there’s separation of church and state but there is no such thing as church and state.”

“The First Amendment doesn’t even have that  terminology in it,” said Ham.  “The establishment clause is about the state not establishing a church. But the state has established a church, it’s the Church of Evolution, with Darwin as the high priest, if you like, and a lot of these teachers and professors as priests in this religion of evolution that they’re imposing through the schools.”

“You’ve got an atheist who’s been trying to get these Evolution Weekends, and pastors to sign on to the clergy letter to oppose people believing in a literal Genesis,” he continued.  “All this is happening, all at the same time. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the Lord has raised up a ministry like Answers in Genesis [2]and the Creation Museum, and now the coming Ark Encounter, to call people back to the authority of the Word of God.”

The First Amendment to the Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Continuing with his remarks about Darwinian evolution, Ham said, “What we’ve got to understand is molecules-to-man evolution, that’s not observational science, that’s a belief, that’s a story that people made up to try to explain how life arose.”

“Christians have an account of origins in the Bible that God has given us,” he said,  “and here’s the point that I make to people: As you take the account in Genesis, the more you use observational science in the present as you study genetics, as you study biology, you see it confirms the Bible’s account of creation. And the Flood and the Tower of Babel do not confirm molecules-to-man evolution.”

“Molecules-to-man evolution is a fairy tale,” said Ham, author of The Lie: Evolution [4]. “That’s really what it is. It’s man’s story, in rebellion against God, to try to be his own god, to try to explain life without God.  We need to make people realize what it is.”

“We actually, we have this on our website too, we actually will encourage you to say ‘not the theory of evolution but belief in evolution,’” said Ham. “The reason is because when people say theory, the idea of a theory is that there’s evidence for it. There’s no evidence for evolution, so it’s not even a theory.”

“It’s actually a belief – that’s what it is,” said Ham.  “It’s someone’s belief, it’s a blind faith belief. There is no evidence for evolution. What they’re doing is telling people, ‘look, when you look at finches with different beaks,’ then they’re interpreting that with, ‘given enough time, one kind will change into another.’”

Ham continued, “But, see, we need to show people: You don’t observe evolution. When you look in the glass cases in museums, you don’t see evolution, you see fossils, you see creatures that live on the earth, and so on. Evolution is pasted on the glass case, not in the glass case. It’s man’s interpretation, man’s belief, man’s religion.”

Ken Ham is the author (or co-author) of more than 20 books. In addition to his degrees in environmental biology and education, he has been awarded four honorary degrees. Ken Ham is married and has five children.

Ken Ham is a professional troll. There's not much more than can be said about him. He sees the facts presented to him, and denies their existence.

To him, all that matters (at least in public) is that Genesis says it happened exactly this way, so it MUST have happened exactly this way, even though with the laws of physics God has given us, such an account would be impossible. Furthermore, to assume that God changed the laws of physics so drastically as to fit this narrative is to call God a liar and a deceiver.

Genesis (with the exception of the Ten Commandments, which isn't until Exodus anyway) did not descend from the heavens directly. It was written by man, who was not there to witness it. Therefore, it must have come from a vision or dream, and if one were to read the Bible, it notes that all dreams and visions are open to interpretation (see Joseph's dreams in the very same book of Genesis for a prime example).

Ken Ham has done more to drive people away from Christianity than all the 'darwinists' (made up word he seems to think is real) combined.

..except the very thick irony in Ham's case is he has to write volumes upon volumes of twisted evidence(sic) to get around science. He created a new unscientific science (creation science) to counter real science even though he claims to be trying to defend solo scriptura.

I don't believe in EVOLUTION as presented by the GODLESS.  That we came from some single cell.

(This is a serious statement)  The one thing that separates man from the entire animal kingdom is the FACT they we use toilet paper because we MUST!  The entire animal kingdom does not have to they are designed to be able to function without it.

On a less serious note:  If evolution were a fact then people would be born with 3 arms.  Can you imagine the work we could get done if we had 3 instead of 2.  No more:  Hey can you hold this while I do this?

Duggar Family values don't help much either. Or Benny Hinn taking money from weak minded people.

Ham is just one of a great many. PT Barnum ....."there is a sucker born every minute."

In the 60s one "Wolfman Jack" broadcast using very high power, sending out great rock n' roll, and offering to send things, if you just "send five dollars, cash, check or money order" to box  blah blah.

Then came televangelism, prosperity preaching, and I learned my fellow countrymen are about the most gullible bunch on the planet.

Evolution doesn't require belief. It is the theorem derived from the evidence presented. Evolution isn't something presented by 'godless', many scientists of faith also support it. I would suggest picking up the book, The Language of God by Francis Collins. This book shows how scientific knowledge and religious faith don't contradict each other. This isn't some fly by night scientist, he was the head of the human genome project.

Much of humanity doesn't. On the other hand, my dog wipes her butt on the grass whenever she poops (no she doesn't have worms, she just cleans herself). Other animals clean themselves in various ways. Apes use leaves and clean each other constantly. We use toilet paper because we don't want to lick ourselves or our neighbors.  The need for cleanliness is not uniquely human though.  Toilet paper is like the use of other tools and varies in complexity as the intelligence level of the animal increases.

Not really because or central nervous system and vascular system evolved with us to work best with two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears (seeing a pattern here? There is a reason for that pattern). An extra arm wouldn't be beneficial if our nervous system had trouble controlling it, our eyes had trouble tracking three arms, our vascular system couldn't pump the proper amount of blood to it, etc. In the rare cases, those are born with such as a birth defect don't find the adaption/mutation beneficial but instead is usually accompanied by many other health problems. Some adaptations work, especially those that come about gradually over time. Some don't.

There's no doubt that Woodrow Wilson's Darwinism was a significant factor in destroying the Constitution.

And I also believe that believe in evolution has led to abortion.  The meaningless of life by chance doesn't give it much value.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

The randomness of Darwinism leaves a lot to be desired.

Factually untrue.  Your dog is not wiping its butt to be clean.  There are several reason why they do this:  They have scent glans and do this to express them, they can be constipated, they have have an irritant in their food, they can have worms and a host of other reasons.  All the animals in the animal kingdom either have an exposed anus or and exposed anus covered only by a tail, which they lift.  Vs the human 'buns' which does require a wipe of some kind to remain clean and healthy, there is no society that does not clean itself by wiping.  And yes, leaves COUNT as toilet paper, as does a Sears Catalog.  I grew up in a very rural enviro and for many years we did not buy toilet paper, and when we 'flushed', we just took a bag of lye and shook some down into the  chithole, which we filled in and moved every other year.

As for dogs!  I own a company that manufacturers and sells dog edibles across the US.  We work with Vets, dietitians and have a excellent customer feedback process that allows us to develop products for dogs with:  Diabetes, digestive issue, difficulty chewing or older dogs with no teeth, dogs that simply cannot eat anything, dogs with pancreatitis and bone/mouth deformities and anything else a customer can tell us about that can lead to another SKU.  Our products are all natural and when possible organic.  My wife and I never had human children we have dogs and their care and feeding is number 1 with us.
