Oh My: Trump/Cruz 2016 Appears To Be In Play…

A rumored meeting is said to have recently taken place by high-ranking members affiliated with both the Donald Trump and Ted Cruz political campaigns. The two outspoken men have, for the most part, been openly supportive of one another. Could this latest meeting be a signal that a Trump/Cruz 2016 ticket is now being seriously considered?



Here is what one D.C. Whispers source had to say regarding the alleged meeting:

“This is most likely an intentional leak meant to reward both campaigns as a counter-measure against the Carson and Rubio challenges.  Trump is either first or second depending on various polls, though the majority of polls still place him as leading the race for the nomination. Senator Cruz has managed to propel himself into the top four or five, and in places like Iowa and South Carolina he’s hovering around third. It’s far too early to suggest the campaigns are at the point of seriously discussing teaming the two candidates on a ticket, but I do believe they are floating the possibility and purposely letting the other candidates know about it. Given the current political climate which was in display with the Kentucky election yesterday, a Trump/Cruz ticket would be a formidable juggernaut. The catch here is that if Senator Cruz continues to improve his standing in the polls, he will have no choice but to challenge Donald Trump directly and at that point, any prior discussions will be pushed aside in favor of each candidate’s own political ambitions.”

More likely it is part of a continuing strategy, as agreed upon by the directors of both campaigns to ensure that if (or more likely, when) one candidate falters, the other will be well-positioned to pick up the others' supporters and delegates. Smart politics.
