College Honors Communist Black Panther Who Once Helped Kill A Judge

St. Mary’s College of Maryland has honored Angela Davis with a prestigious award. Davis is a radical black terrorist that is lovingly referred to by the liberal media as an empowering civil rights activist. What they often leave out is that she was both a member of the Communist Party USA and the Black Panther Party. Also forgotten on purpose by the left was her role in killing a judge in the 1970’s, a crime that by today’s standards would land her in federal prison for life.
On August 7, 1970 Angela Davis purchased several firearms, including a shotgun. Two days later, those firearms were in the hands of 17-year old Jonathan Jackson as he stormed a courthouse in Marin County, CA. Jackson took the judge hostage and armed two black defendants, one of whom was Angela Davis’ pen pal.
As Jackson and the two armed black defendants attempted to leave the courthouse with the judge and other hostages, a gun fight with police broke out. Jackson killed the judge with the shotgun Davis bought for him and police killed all three armed assailants. A DA and a juror were also wounded in the shootout.
But wait, this story gets even more twisted. Jackson was the younger brother of an inmate that had killed a guard in Soledad prison with 3 other prisoners. Angela Davis led the movement to free the Soledad Brothers, as they were known. Jackson’s attempted kidnapping of the judge was to leverage for his brother’s release from prison.
Because Davis had furnished the guns used in this crime and had corresponded with one of the co-conspirators, a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was even placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list before she was eventually apprehended. Now if you can believe it, she was acquitted of this crime by an all-white jury.
I’d like to point out that the same liberals that praise Davis for being an empowering figure are also demand the feds crack down on straw purchases of firearms. Even if you can ignore the likelihood that Davis masterminded the entire crime, at the very least she bought guns for a 17-year old who used them two days later to murder a judge. Like I said, if this crime was committed today, she would be held as responsible as the triggerman and be looking at a life sentence.
So this is the wonderful person that St. Mary’s College of Maryland just bestowed the Margaret Brent Award upon. In her acceptance speech, Davis proved she is still a white people hating lunatic saying that America shouldn’t incarcerate black people and that the death penalty only exists to kill black people.
The left really makes the worst people society has to offer into their heroes. Whether it be cop-killers like Mumia Abu-Jamal and Assata Shakur or street thugs like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, they just love to celebrate criminality and anti-social behavior.
I don’t know what the Margaret Brent Award represents, but unless it’s for excellence in the killing of public officials, they probably should have given it to someone other than Angela Davis.
