Reporter Uncovers Document Revealing Campaign State Department’s New Email Czar Recently Donated To

The State Department’s new email and transparency czar appointed by Secretary of State John Kerry donated to the Hillary Clinton campaign in late June, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Janice Jacobs made a $2,700 contribution to Clinton’s campaign on June 22, an FEC document shows.
The revelation was first uncovered by Ted Bridis, editor of the Associated Press’ investigative team.
Jacobs was announced as the person who will fill the newly-created “transparency coordinator” position Tuesday.
She previously served as assistant secretary for consular affairs.
“Secretary Kerry takes very seriously our responsibility to the American people to be as transparent as possible and to preserve the record, as we must, of how we conduct diplomacy around the world,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said Tuesday, adding that Kerry believes “we can do better.”
