State Department BlackBerry devices issued to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's aides Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin have likely been destroyed or sold off, the department said in a court filing on Wednesday.

Mills and Abedin “were each issued BlackBerry devices,” department Executive Secretary Joseph Macmanus wrote in the filing.

The department, however, “has not located any such device,” and believes that they would have been destroyed or removed from the department's control.

“Because the devices issues to Ms. Mills and Ms. Abedin would have been outdated models, in accordance with standard operating procedures those devices would have been destroyed or excessed,” Macmanus added.

Clinton lawyer says her email server was wiped clean

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Hillary Rodham Clinton's personal lawyer has told a Senate committee that emails and all other data stored on her computer server were erased before the device was turned over to federal authorities.

In a letter sent last week to Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, attorney David Kendall said the server was transferred to the FBI on Aug. 12 by Platte River Networks, a Denver firm hired by Clinton to oversee the device. The Senate committee made Kendall's letter public on Wednesday. In exchanges with reporters earlier this week, Clinton said she was not aware if the data on her server was erased.

Ahhh, but they were Blackberry devices. This means emails don't just reside on the originating server and the device, but on what is known as BES, Blackberry Enterprise Server.  Not only would you have potentially copies of the emails in the hands of Blackberry, but you would have routing logs for emails.

This is the funny thing about all the hubbub about Hillary wiping her server, that is only one link in the chain an email goes through. Example, BES routing diagram.



I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a bigger call for the routing logs from her network, BB, or other sources. They can find where the other end of the emails or any potential archived copies on various networks are located.

Nothing ever is permanently deleted on the Internet.

Still, how are we going to the get real truth, when this investigation is being run out of the FBI headquarters in Washington?  The FBI, like the IRS and CIA have all been politicized.

IOW, they slow roll and come up with nothing?
