Go to MLB Network (1634 on Uverse) and watch Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals attempt a perfect game.

Six batters remaining.

Tough last out by Danny Espinoza, but Scherzer is perfect through 8.

One of the most difficult achievements in sports:  27 up, 27 down.

Perfect game spoiled as Scherzer hits 27th batter.

No Hitter still alive.  Got it.

Pretty sleazy of Pittsburgh batter to lean into pitch so he could get hit.

They've been playing shitty defense this year.  If you're going to build your team with the best rotation in baseball, you'd better have people behind you that can catch and throw the ball.

And they don't.

Two games over .500.....thank God they're in the NL East and not in the Central, or they'd be watching the postseason on TV like the rest of us.

My son Jason was texting and calling me all day to tune in.  I refused...until the 9th inning.

And what do I see?

A freaking batter drop his elbow into the pitch.

No-hitter today was just like a 3 hit shut out to me today, because he was PERFECT if not for that rube SOB.

Incidentally, last outing he was also PERFECT going into the 7th inning...ends up with a one-hitter and one walk.

Congratulations to Max!

But this team is going nowhere in the postseason with this pantywaist roster.
