Man charged with stealing his barrister's phone in court
« on: May 06, 2015, 09:10:22 am »
A man has been charged with stealing his own barrister's mobile phone during a court appearance.

Bobby Heath, 25, is alleged to have swiped the phone at Bexley Magistrates' Court on 1 May.

He was in court to plead guilty to possession of cannabis and driving without insurance.

Magistrates fined him £165 and he had to pay further costs of £170. His driving licence was also endorsed with six points.

Heath, Strood, Kent, was bailed to reappear at the court, in Bexleyheath, south east London, on 2 June in relation to his lawyer's phone.

The astonishing scenario was detailed in a tweet from Scotland Yard's @MPSBexley account.
