Gentle Giant Slits Throat Of GameStop Manager, Blames Schizophrenia

See the ‘gentle giant‘ pictured above? He not robbed a GameStop shop in downtown Renton, WA, but he also slit the throat of the employee who was working at the time, reports Komo News:
Darren L. Gayles, 44, was arrested in Seattle on Wednesday evening. On Tuesday, police say Gayles walked into a Game Stop in Renton, grabbed the 23-year-old employee from behind and held a knife to her neck.
Gayles forced the woman to open the cash drawer and then slit her throat, grabbed the cash and ran out of the store, according to police.
Both eyewitness testimony and surveillance video footage helped local police officers quickly track down Darren Gayles. But instead of fessing up to being a rotten criminal, Darren decided to play the victim card and allege that “he was schizophrenic and had not been taking his medication.” He also claimed that “he didn’t mean to hurt the clerk.” What did you mean to do then, Darren?
But it gets worse. When confronted with surveillance video footage, Darren “admitted that it was him in the video, but also said he was told to rob the store by a man named ‘Rob,’ who he said looked exactly like the man in the video. ”
The good news is that the employee, Kiersten Schideler, made it:
The father of a 23-year-old video game store clerk who was stabbed in the throat during a robbery in the Seattle suburb of Renton says his daughter is expected to recover and in his words, is “out of the woods.”
What remains to be seen is whether criminal Darren Gayles will be able to avoid fair and equitable punishment by pleading insanity.
