President Obama believes choosing Hillary Clinton to serve as Secretary of State was one of the best decisions he has ever made.
“I think one of the best decisions I ever made as President was to ask Hillary Clinton to serve as our nation’s Secretary of State,” he said during a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative event in New York City on Tuesday. “I’ll always be grateful for her extraordinary leadership representing our nation around the world.”
Obama continued his tradition of speaking at the event hosted by former President Bill Clinton and explained during his speech that he was “proud to come back every year.”
“I still have a lot of debt to pay, though, because the two of them were separated far too often,” Obama said, referring to the former first couple.
Obama met with Hillary backstage before the speech and noted that she had the “post-administration glow right now.”
“She looks much more rested,” he added.
