Pelosi said she knew she was ripping up soldier’s homecoming page of SOTU; paused, did it anyway

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defended her petty act of ripping up her copy of President Trump’s State of the Union speech and admitted that it was done for the “attention.”

The California Democrat wasn’t sure if the president actually snubbed her extended hand at the State of the Union address earlier this month, but in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Pelosi was adamant that there was not a page of his speech that didn’t “have a falsehood on it.”

Did the President refuse to shake your hand?”Amanpour asked.

“He didn’t shake it when I extended it. I don’t know what you call that,” Pelosi replied.

“But in any event, that had nothing to do with my tearing of the State of the Union address. My tearing it up had to do with — I thought if I could find a page that doesn’t have a falsehood on it, I’ll spare it, but I couldn’t find that,” she said, adding that at one point, the emotional homecoming of Sgt. 1st Class Townsend Williams from the Middle east gave her pause.

“I almost did when the soldier was coming home, that was so beautiful. But get back to the bottom of the page and there he goes again,” Pelosi said.

That was nice of her, to admit that.
