Trump reschedules Tulsa rally after criticism of overlap with Juneteenth
By Brett Samuels - 06/12/20 11:29 PM EDT

President Trump will push back his planned rally for next week by one day to avoid overlapping with Juneteenth, he said Friday, citing widespread criticism that the campaign event would fall on the same day that commemorates the end of slavery.

"We had previously scheduled our #MAGA Rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for June 19th – a big deal. Unfortunately, however, this would fall on the Juneteenth Holiday," Trump tweeted late Friday night.

"Many of my African American friends and supporters have reached out to suggest that we consider changing the date out of respect for this Holiday, and in observance of this important occasion and all that it represents," he continued. "I have therefore decided to move our rally to Saturday, June 20th, in order to honor their requests."

Trump campaign manager says 300,000 tickets registered for upcoming rally

Brad Parscale, President Trump’s campaign manager, said 300,000 tickets have been registered for the campaign's upcoming rally in Tulsa, Okla.

Parscale said the event is going to be “epic” and that the campaign is “Looking at a 2nd event in town to get more people to be w/@realDonaldTrump.”

If he didn't have anything to hide.  If he really was the president for the African American people you would have thought it would be a good time to address race relations at that rally.  if the African Americans truly supported him and though he was their president they would want him to hold the rally on Juneteenth.  in support of African Americans, but not the leftist agenda or racism.

Fake, fake, fake.  Once again the President being tossed to and froe by Nancy Pelosi who runs this country.

What Trump actually did was just admit he was a White Nationalist and he scheduled on that day to call in the White Nationalist.  That is what it sounds like.  Instead of being a man and addressing it he caves.  And along with his cave is probably another two weeks of liberal news about it.  More protests and gas on the fire that says he was guilty and had to cave to their pressure.  Will certainly have a very negative affect.  Don't expect it to stop anything or even slow the BS going on.

Illiterate, uneducated, downtrodden slaves come up with a clever portmanteau only to be ridiculed for their efforts 155 years later by the esteemed scholar @sneakypete.

That, undoubtedly, stings worse than their bondage.

Nobody outside of Texas ever heard of Juneteenth until now.

Obama sure as hell, didn't.

And to think they have only had 155 years (by YOUR account) to improve themselves!

Just look at how far they have advanced in so little time!

Incorrect.
I'd heard of it, and knew what it was.
When I first saw the rally date of June 19th, I thought... "hey, that's Juneteenth".

However, I would NOT have rescheduled the rally because of it.
I would hold one on 6/19, and another on 6/20, and fill the place up a second time!

Yes, you are.   And I don't think that anyone here has any doubt...

that had Trump not rescheduled to another date... you would be right here denigrating and bashing him for that, too.   It's how you roll.   Confused and conflicted by hatred....tsk tsk.

Absolutely wrong, and of course you are seeing through your Trump colored glasses.  I see it as pandering.  And perhaps you thought that because Trump is confusing.  And the Trump people are so busy today trying to make excuses for why Trump says he's going to do things he doesn't do.  Because he is driven purely by what's popular.  What he thinks will win him votes.  He is void of any real human compassion.  Its all about him.

He certainly did not cancel out of respect.  And if his African American outreach was true he could have used June 19th to promote unity.  To condemn racism and rioting.  He could have proclaimed a new hope for the positive changes that have happened on June 19h in the U.S. Like:

1862 Slavery outlawed in U.S Territories.

1865  Union General George Granger declared Texas slave free

And of course on June 19 1964 The Civil Rights Act was passed.

He totally could have used it but he caved and promoted himself as either ignorant or lacking knowledge.  He could have used our good history to combat the left, but the  his actions are left leaning pander.

Blah, blah, blah.... more spew, more hate, more unhinged ranting.   Nothing Trump does or says is ever going to be approved by you and everyone here knows it.

But hey.... by all means, do carry on.   You've become part of our entertainment.    :2popcorn:

Mandatory sterilization should be the minimum punishment for something like that.
