Trump sits down with Putin: 'It has gone very well'

President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin sat down Friday at the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, for their first face-to-face meeting since Trump took office.
"Putin and I have been discussing various things, and I think it has gone very well," Trump said before their half-hour conversation began.
"We've had some very, very good talks. We're going to have a talk now, and obviously that will continue," Trump said. "But we look forward to a lot of very positive things happening for Russia for the United States and for everybody concerned and it's an honor to be with you."

Trump can't win on this with the left. If things did not go well with Putin, he'd be accused of being a diplomatic disaster for America. If things do go well, he'll be accused of collaborating with "le enemy". It would be funny if it were not already so sickening.

I agree with you.
Trump cannot, and should not, attempt to mollify the left, otherwise nothing will get done.
I didn't vote for Trump, and I have some issues with Trump, but I find myself defending Trump because of the rabid and ridiculous attacks from the left
