Quote
Preventing the killing of Drummer Lee Rigby outside Woolwich Barracks would have been "incredibly hard", an ex-senior intelligence officer has said.

The UK's security services face a Commons inquiry after it was confirmed the two men arrested over his murder were known to MI5 for eight years.

They are now known to be Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale.

Richard Barrett, ex-MI6 counter-terror head, said little could be done to stop attacks that needed little preparation.

His warning came as video footage, obtained by the Daily Mirror, emerged showing the moment police shot Mr Adebolajo, 28, originally of Romford, east London, and Mr Adebowale, 22, of Greenwich, south-east London.

It shows one of the men charge at police sitting in a patrol car. He drops a knife as he is shot and falls to the ground.
Further arrests

The other man is shown aiming a gun at officers as he runs in a different direction. Police are heard firing eight shots in total at the two men

The bolded bit though - sound familiar?

Stopped at my usual cafe to grab breakfast. It is about a quarter mile from the murder, usually full of builders and cops.

People here are seriously pissed.

Everyone I talk to is angry right now.  I hope this is a time of a great awakening.

I am seeing people literally shaking with rage. 300 pound builders trying not to cry.

The soldiers and the cops who use the cafe loud and angry, not quiet as they usually are.

Wandered up to the actual site - there are a ton of flowers and messages there from all sorts of people. Watched a woman of about 90 and a young woman in a hijab lay flowers at the same time. There are 2 cops and 4 off duty soldiers there who are not in the mood for games if anyone wishes to try.

A horrible senseless tragedy - we're all angry about it.  The tide is turning.

They picked the wrong area to do this.

It is a strange area. Like a small town in the middle of a massive city. We look out for each other here. Get together for celebrations - the Mela is the most popular, but there are many parties throughout the year, everyone welcome.

I heard that this "bloody hands" terrorist was born in Britain - enjoying the comforts of the land and then turning on the people that enabled him to live the life he has.  What a worthless POS...

At least one of them converted to Islam in his late teens/early twenties.

I'll put money on him being in prison when he converted. That seems to be common.

Here, our prisons are more like social networking fraternal clubs - instead of being punitive.

Can't.

Most of them over the last few years were born here. The damage was done already.
