Biden outlines military plans to build port in Gaza for aid

The U.S. military will establish a temporary port in the Gaza Strip to deliver humanitarian aid to starving Palestinians, while continuing to send weapons to Israel, President Joe Biden confirmed in his State of the Union address Thursday.

“No U.S. boots will be on the ground,” Biden said. “A temporary pier will enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day. And Israel must also do its part. Israel must allow more aid into Gaza and ensure that humanitarian workers aren’t caught in the cross fire.

“To the leadership of Israel I say this: Humanitarian assistance cannot be a secondary consideration or a bargaining chip.”

Senior administration officials told reporters earlier Thursday the mission would route humanitarian aid through Cyprus to the temporary port in Gaza. The White House is also pushing Israel and Egypt to allow more aid through the land crossings at Rafah and Kerem Shalom.

As soon as its completed, he can pull an Afghanistan, withdraw US troops and leave it for Hamas.

U.S. Army Ship Bound for Gaza to Build Port, Enable Aid Deliveries

The U.S. Army has dispatched a ship to send humanitarian aid to Gaza, Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Sunday, days after President Joe Biden vowed to build a temporary pier to supply the coastal enclave.

The General Frank S. Besson left a base in Virginia and is now on its way to the Eastern Mediterranean laden with equipment for construction, AP reports.

U.S. officials said that it would likely be weeks before the pier is operational.

The sea corridor is backed by the European Union together with the United States, the United Arab Emirates and other countries. The European Commission has said U.N. agencies and the Red Cross will play a role.

As Breitbart News reported, officials were not clear whether U.S. troops would be deployed to help bring the infrastructure to fruition.

One official said that “we are not planning for this to be an operation that would require U.S. boots on the ground,” but the U.S. Army had previously said such an idea would take 2,000 troops.

Gaza had a small port, which was destroyed during the war. Hamas used it to launch terror attacks on October 7.

If Israel doesn't flay and eviscerate Hamas, I'm sure Iran will find the port useful for sending munitions to Gaza's terrorists.

They are lying to you. And Israel knows this.

They did not consult with Israel before enacting this plan to strengthen and supply Hamas during an active ongoing war. Biden just decided to do it, out of nowhere. What if Israel decided to build a port in Florida only for illegal Cubans? With no discussion or consultation with anyone in Florida or in the United States.

First they said they were building a port. Then they said they are building a pier. First they said the American military will not be involved. Then they said the American military will be only indirectly involved in constructing the new terrorist port.

I do not understand the thinking. If someone started building a shed in my backyard, I may have a question or two about what is going on. And even if the shed gets built, the idea that I will just leave it there untouched and simply 'tolerate' it, is probably wishful thinking.

I believe the port/pier/base whatever it really is will never be completed.

ol' white joe has nuthin' to do with this (other than being told what to say about it).

I believe it's the brainchild of islamic sympathizers and members of the "hidden politburo" that actually control operations in the administration.

Think: obamas and val jarrett...
