Schumer: Iran Deal 'Disproportional'

by AWR Hawkins 24 Nov 2013, 2:38 PM PDT

In a statement released Sunday, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said he is not happy with "the nuclear deal ... reached between the U.S. and Iran."

Schumer said he was "disappointed by the terms of the agreement between Iran and the P5+1 nations because it does not seem proportional."

He said freezing sanctions just because Iran freezes its nuclear capabilities is not a good deal—that it rewards Iran for doing what they should have done all along. Moreover, he said it was the strength of the sanctions that "brought Iran to the table" to begin with, thus plans to freeze sanctions would be counterproductive.

Schumer said "the disproportionality of this agreement [actually] makes it more likely that Democrats and Republicans will join together and pass additional sanctions" when Senators come back together after Thanksgiving.

Proving once again that even a blind squirrel finds the occasional nut.

One can be blind and know that you don't reward Iran by stopping sanctions before you actually make them hold up their end of the deal.

Kerry and Obama are morons, and Putin and China played them like fiddle yet again.
