I voted '3', just cause my TDS only afforded me about 15 minutes of it before I started crying, realizing what we could have had, but the glass is always half full, at least a Black Guy ain't shoveling the same platitudes.
It's still 'just' a political ralley and they usually suc, by the producers demand.
*In spite of his constant fund raising and campaigning (He has to do that anyway), I'm still not convinced he's running again :shrug:

The current 4 rating is mine. My problem(s) with the speech are the following....
I accept the SOTU has become a glorified pep rally. However, it should be the time to lay out your legislative agenda for the year. He barely mentioned the wall, was nebulous on drug cost reduction, and slipped in a paid leave proposal, between two unrelated topics.
You can’t be taken seriously when, prior to the speech, you say the Speaker is bad for the country (she is) and be taken seriously on unity.
The guests should have something to do with your upcoming plans. Other than the border guard and angel family, there was not much else of relevance to where we’re going. The other guests were stage props, exploited for applause lines. Their stories deserve something other than that.

I gave the President a 9. I thought the speech was excellent. The points he made of patriotism were excellent. His point on socialism was excellent. He made the DEMS look like the obstructionists that they are. He had several 'stellar' lines that knocked the entire speech out of the park. He succeeded BIGLY!!! :patriot:

Saw the interview of Cruz on Hannity and his response to the SOTU. He stated that Trump gave a very strong speech.
@corbe, we will never know what could have been, we can only hope what could be in the future.

I voted a "9" for the speech. I went to look for a picture of (Olympic) judges holding up 9s to display my vote, but could not find any. (Surprised me.)

His opinion that we would have been in a major war with North Korea was the only thing that made me say"What?".
Everything else seemed spot on.
Although. I'll admit, I am no big fan of a government mandated family leave act for newborns,I am perfectly okay if any employers offer it.
My only 2 critiques in an hour+ long speech.
I don't know if I've said that after any other SOTU speeches.
Is as close to a ten as I can recall.

I give it an 8.5.
On the negative side, I agree with @edpc that the paid family leave for everyone is not exactly a conservative position. Trump also needed to work on his phrasing. He ran one topic into another a few times without so much as a pause in between and it came off a bit discordant.
On the positive side, he did a great job with illustrating exactly what the Democrats won't stand up for while throwing in enough things that they HAD to applaud even though I'm quite sure they would have preferred to sit on their hands all night. The best of the best, though, were his comments on late-term abortion and right to life -- way beyond excellent.
Side note: I give Nancy Pelosi a 2. She looked ridiculous sitting back there sucking on her dentures and shuffling her papers, and lost track of when to sit the heck back down a couple of times. I did like her necklace, though, so she gets a couple of points for that.

I gave it a zero because I didn't see it. I have had zero interest in listening to any SOTU no matter gave it since the early Bush years... :shrug:

I figured this poll would be the same as the one's (Like Drudge) during the primaries that had Trump winning debates 2 hours before they started.
