Mark Levin Lays Waste to ‘Utterly Useless’ Matt Gaetz and His Gang of ‘Five Boneheads’ Leading Far-Right Revolt Against McCarthy

Conservative radio host Mark Levin went off on the “bonehead” Congressional Republicans threatening to derail Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) bid to be the next speaker of the House.
Levin used his show on Tuesday to talk about how the Republican Party’s slim majority in the House of Representatives may cause a struggle for McCarthy to get the votes he needs to succeed Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Hard-right members of the Congressional GOP have publicly opposed McCarthy’s bid for the speakership, so the House minority leader is currently trying to bring these factions in line and secure the 218 votes he needs.
Levin had no patience for this drama, lashing out at these “five boneheads in the House of Representatives.” He argued that these GOP rebels have no alternative nearly as electable as McCarthy, so they’re “playing right into the hands” of their political foes with this internal squabbling.
“How can they be so stupid?” Levin railed as he blasted these lawmakers for standing in the way of Republican efforts to smoothly implement their agenda. He then proceeded to name and shame these “five saboteurs,” starting with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

I definitely do not like McCarthy, but Levin certainly made his point, though he must realize the importance of putting a conservative in place instead of a RINO. Is he implying that there is no other good alternative to put in the Speaker's seat other than McCarthy??

You hold out for concessions. I don't trust McCarthy to keep his promises, but at least put it on the public record.
Of course that all depends on whether they ask for the right stuff.

But, here’s the problem. You can’t govern with those principles and values, until and unless you get enough like minded legislators elected with a majority. Democrats are good at building majorities because they tenaciously stand behind their principles but slide on their values in order to build up a majority. That’s when they legislate their principles.
But, republicans fail to remember they’re operating within the distorted bubble of political morality and thus are poor political tacticians.

Yep. All or nothing does not work in politics. You gotta be in the game to affect the outcome. President Reagan understood this. He was happy to get 80%, and then fight for the remaining 20. Among conservatives he was considered to be one of the greatest presidents in history.

What I wrote is true in some circumstances,and what you wrote is true in others.
Republican voters need to do some thinking about the candidates they vote for instead of just pulling the lever for the guy with the "R" beside his name.
We all know the Dim Party stands for and supports global communism,and too many of the pols with "R"'s being their name are willing to vote with the commies and make a long-term mistake in order to support a short-term gain with an election coming up.
You do NOT get prepared for "the big dance" by shooting yourself in the foot. IF you are a pol and feel like you need to do that,make damn sure you get something solid in return other than a promise to not put a strong candidate up against you in an upcoming election.
It ain't about YOU,it's about the future of all of us.

And they have got to learn to do knifework and make advances one step at a time, do their research, and always always always thinking several moves ahead to be ready with a comeback for whatever they throw at you.

I'm about normally 99% aligned with Levin's POV, but his unwavering endorsement of McCarthy is dead wrong.
If McCarthy cared about the country or the GOP he'd yield to either Jordon or Scalise. Our tandems of McC (arthy, onnell) are nothing but feckless complict dim Lites!!!!!!

I don't think they have the numbers for that. I think this is maneuvering in order to wedge some conservative planks into the game. I think that's all they can do.

Agree. The biggest part of this is being realistic, getting what you can, stopping what you can. A narrow majority gives them some leverage, I just hope they are smart enough to know how to use it.

You'd think McCarthy as leader should shoulder some blame for this failure. But instead we get more of the same the shit, and no accountibility. Why reward failure? Is that too much to ask?

I'd go back 40, when there was a least some level of care and stewardship of managing the federal debt.
Post Reagan, our government has been a drunken spending spree, and at some point the piper will have to be paid.

Eisenhower years perhaps Kennedy not so much and Johnson implemented policies that were a complete disaster to our Republic that we have never recovered from. Reagan signed amnesty into law. Things have really gone down hill since Johnson. Trump had things turned around but then as most affirm we experienced a coup.

It seems America is becoming a police state in all but name. It’s the media today that’s oblivious to significant political events, not I.

This is the second time Kevin McCarthy was rebuffed by the right. Let's remember that.
Yet we are still here, Kevin McCarthy is still next in line, still expecting that seat. Why? Why, when we have known since John Boehner was Speaker that McCarthy did not have the support to be Speaker?
Two reasons: McCarthy's ego, and a GOP that failed to remove McCarthy and his supporters from key committees when it became clear he lacked that support, because (I presume) they were afraid of losing the seat in deep-blue California.

I cannot in good faith empower Mr. McCarthy as he has failed to protect President Trump and America First candidates in the midterms.
