Former Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore called on Republicans to "take a stand" and support suggested U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh following the sexual misconduct allegations levied against him, adding that he believes the Democrats are using Kavanaugh's accuser as a political pawn.
Moore is no stranger to such allegations. He was accused by nine women of sexual misconduct that allegedly occurred during the 1970s - allegations that surfaced about a month before the December special election between Moore and Doug Jones. Moore denied the allegations, although he conceded to dating young women at the time.
The former Alabama Supreme Court urged Republicans to continue their support of the Supreme Court nominee.

He is correct. Same story ... different date. The GOP needs to grow a pair and stand up to the leftists.
-
I think an appropriate name for this affair is....
"Roy Moore's Revenge" !!!
-
He is correct. Same story ... different date. The GOP needs to grow a pair and stand up to the leftists.
@libertybele
Not at all the same story. Not even in the ballpark.
-

Yep, the resemblances are remarkable and unless the GOP steps up, it could forever scar the landscape of conservative politics.
In the meanwhile, CAIR throws a party for Doug Jones (who attends) and boast about it's 20,000 members in the state that voted almost exclusively for Jones (the margin that Jones won by).

The unconscionable fruit of wretched gossip.
-
I admire Moore's solid defense of the unborn versus some who have abandoned the unborn by talking down those who have worked for the unborn and even call them mean-spirited names, those people should be seen as being on the same side, effectively as some leftists.
Moore came in for a lot of flak, even Senator Cruz withdrew his endorsement.
They call themselves pro-life? BWAHAHAHA!
-
Funny, I don't recall Kavanaugh being accused of going to malls to pick up girls half his age.
-
Funny, I don't recall Kavanaugh being accused of going to malls to pick up girls half his age.
And I don't recall Moore being accused of putting his penis in some drunk girls face. What's your point in attacking Moore?
-
And I don't recall Moore being accused of putting his penis in some drunk girls face. What's your point in attacking Moore?
To me the accusations against Moore was credible. Also, Moore could have won, if he spent time on the campaign trail then going to a football game.
-

IIRC there was only one girl that accused Moore of improper behavior. Accusations from years ago
are now SOP from the Rats party. A presumption of innocence is a thing of the past. I miss the old
days where an accuser had the burden of proof not the accused.
-
To me the accusations against Moore was credible. Also, Moore could have won, if he spent time on the campaign trail then going to a football game.
Literally ALL of the evidence against Moore was knocked down. ALL of it, to include the 'cruising malls' shtick, and the adjoined allegation that he was banned from the mall.
~ALL~ of it was bullshit, constructed just like the accusations against Kavanaugh. Literally made of whole cloth. There is not a single piece of evidence to stand against him, every witness has been refuted, and every accuser tripped up in their own lies.
-
@libertybele
Not at all the same story. Not even in the ballpark.
@CatherineofAragon
Please be kind enough to point out the difference, other than the names involved, to those of us who, according to you, have no sense of discernment.

There would be no sliming of Kavanaugh if there wasn't first a sliming of Moore. When will we learn.

@roamer_1
Exactly and precisely correct across the board!
-

@skeeter
They will keep running the play for as long as we allow it to succeed!

@Bigun
What makes you think I’m going to waste my time and help you derail the thread doing that again, when you refused to accept sense the first time and have made it clear your opinion hasn’t changed?
-
@Bigun
What makes you think I’m going to waste my time and help you derail the thread doing that again, when you refused to accept sense the first time and have made it clear your opinion hasn’t changed?
@CatherineofAragon
The EXACT response I expected from you! There is NO difference and YOU know it!
-
He is correct. Same story ... different date. The GOP needs to grow a pair and stand up to the leftists.
:amen:
When will this evil end? The Rat activists bring allegations from 30-40 years ago, which can't be verified and it's up to the accused to prove their innocence. The media runs with the story as if the accuser should be taken seriously. The "moderate" pubs get weak knees and spout the typical pc line "the accuser must be heard". The person accused is besmirched and their reputation tarnished. The Rats win.
Unless the American people vote against this kind of thing it's just going to continue.
-
He is correct. Same story ... different date. The GOP needs to grow a pair and stand up to the leftists.
@libertybele
Damned right he is! 100%!
-
There would be no sliming of Kavanaugh if there wasn't first a sliming of Moore. When will we learn.
I don't think we will learn. People want to let their emotions dictate their actions. Principals like due process and innocent until proven guilty get in the way of a satisfying lynching.
-
I don't think we will learn. People want to let their emotions dictate their actions. Principals like due process and innocent until proven guilty get end the way of a satisfying lynching.
600 years of english common law is enough doncha think? Law of the Jungle is much better suited to the 24 hr news cycle and Progressive political prospects.
-
@CatherineofAragon
The EXACT response I expected from you! There is NO difference and YOU know it!
@Bigun
Doesn’t work that way. My refusal to lay that mess out again for you because you demand it doesn’t translate to a “gotcha†for you.
You’re free to go back over my old posts on the subject. Maybe you’ll see reason. Or more likely not, since your rejection of it was & still is deliberate.
Consider this matter closed.
-
@libertybele
Not at all the same story. Not even in the ballpark.
Not exactly the same, but the same or similar M.O. of whoever is targeting public figures like Judge Kavanaugh and Roy Moore. Have as many accusers as possible. The ones who helped sink Moore's campaign found out there is strength in numbers. If more than one person makes the same or similar accusation, then the accusations must be true. No need for witnesses or evidence.
-
I don't think we will learn. People want to let their emotions dictate their actions. Principals like due process and innocent until proven guilty get in the way of a satisfying lynching.
That is precisely right.
It was said right on this board that the court of public opinion does not require 'beyond a reasonable doubt'... That 'discernment' can be performed without evidence or oath.
That used to be called vile gossip.
-
To me the accusations against Moore was credible. Also, Moore could have won, if he spent time on the campaign trail then going to a football game.
It was the exact SAME type of smear campaign then as it is now. That you found the unfounded, uncorroborated and unproven allegations credible only shows your bias against Moore, IMO. And Moore probably would have won without the smear tactics. Are you ok with that reality? Letting the Democrats win? I'm sure as hell not.
-

I read them when they were posted and have the same opinion of them today as I did then! The matter is closed because there is now a Democrat sitting in a senate seat from Alabama that should have been filled by a Republican and YOU helped put him there IMHO!

That’s happening with Kavenaugh, yes.

That was one of the more sickening periods in the history of this site and it looks like the dems are using the same playbook on Brett Kavanaugh.
-

Well, one difference is that Moore's denial wasn't exactly ironclad the way Kavanaugh's has been - certainly not at first.
What likely sank Moore was a bit of changing mores/standards. He apparently dated someone who was 17 when he was 34. That was spun as creepy now even though it probably was much more common back then. He eventually denied that, but his initial statements were much less categorical.
-

It will be a cold day in the hot place before I would read any of your despicable rants against a man you thought was corny and 'not your type.' I'm amazed you have the nerve to show your face on the Kavanaugh situation since you did the same type of smear on Moore.
-

@XenaLee
I’m “biased†against Moore, too. Despite the fact that I knew almost nothing about him and waited for facts to come out before making up my mind.
But we’re completely tribal now, operating on emotion and feeling. And it feels so good.
-
First, they came for Roy Moore....

Not mine.

@Emjay
“Not my type?†He could be my father. Hey, don’t tell him that!
I smeared Moore? Damn, I’m powerful.
-

Not mine.

@XenaLee
Come on, now. You haven’t lost the ability to reason. I have faith in you!

All right. I'll play.
What "facts"?

@XenaLee
Like I said earlier, feel free to look at my old posts because I’m not about to detail it again.
Or google reputable conservative sources. By that I mean not Breitbart or TOS; they’re a couple of the tiny minority that will tell you what you want to hear.
-

Sorry. I don't play "that" game.
I saw NO facts that would indict Moore back then. Just as I see none that would indict Kavanaugh. Both cases were/are unbridled smear jobs and totally undeserved by both men, IMO. So unless you want to rehash the whole thing all over again....
the subject should probably be dropped. :thud:
-
@Emjay
“Not my type?†He could be my father. Hey, don’t tell him that!
I smeared Moore? Damn, I’m powerful.
You are not powerful at all but you show up here occasionally and you showed up daily to smear Moore. It was a sickening display.
You know exactly what I meant about 'not your type.' Moore was an ole country boy with very little sophistication but ten times the man as the one who replaced him.
It was certainly not you, but it was people like you on the democrat side who successfully torpedoed Moore and it you did have any power, which thank God you don't, you would have been a co-conspirator.
That's all I will say about it.
-
600 years of english common law is enough doncha think? Law of the Jungle is much better suited to the 24 hr news cycle and Progressive political prospects.
I'm with you 100%!
It seems people get so caught up in their hate and "moral superiority" that they never think, "hey what if I got accused?".
-
That is precisely right.
It was said right on this board that the court of public opinion does not require 'beyond a reasonable doubt'... That 'discernment' can be performed without evidence or oath.

:amen:
One of the pillars of our republic, and why we are the envy of the world, was presumption of innocence and it is the State's responsibility to prove guilt. A confirmation isn't a court of law, but the trend towards an individual having to prove his innocence is unmistakable and frightening.

First they came for Herman Cain...

@bilo That right is absolutely crucial in a democracy.
The problem is the pendulum. It always swings too far. There may well have been a time when womens' complaints were dismissed or ignored and that was wrong. But now, it seems to have become that we must believe women, even if they are obvious liars.
-
@Emjay
You are not powerful at all
According to you, I am.
but you show up here occasionally and you showed up daily to smear Moore. It was a sickening display.
At that time I believe you had me "blocked." wink777
You know exactly what I meant about 'not your type.' Moore was an ole country boy with very little sophistication but ten times the man as the one who replaced him.
Yes, you nailed me 100%, emjay. Except that my husband and his family grew up in a tiny little rural village that isn't on most maps, full of farmers and "ole country boys," and I live in that country village now. Also that I would rather be surrounded by "ole country boys" than just about anyone else, since sophistication, as you put it, is very low on my list of desirable qualities.
As is pretentiousness and affectation, which can take various forms which don't include fake sophistication and urbanity. Affectation includes showing up to polls riding a horse in the hope that the "ole country boys" will be dumb enough to fall for it.
But feel free to construct another scenario to make yourself feel better. I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with.
It was certainly not you, but it was people like you on the democrat side who successfully torpedoed Moore and it you did have any power, which thank God you don't, you would have been a co-conspirator.

Probably best in order to save yourself embarrassment.

@CatherineofAragon
Nothing you can say would embarrass me. We both know your sorry efforts on the Roy Moore thing, as if showing up on a horse was the ultimate sin. How many times did you post that horse video?
I don't know if you are truly pretentious or not. All I can go by is your posts here.
Can we drop this now. I am truly not interested in a petty feud, even if you are.
-

Oh, FFS.....
Unless they were registered AL voters, nobody here that was critical of Moore had a damn thing to do with the outcome.
-

Your opinion is noted! I happen to disagree.
-
@Emjay
You live for it.
How long would you keep this up? If I kept posting, would you keep posting till the end of time.
I live for the people I love and the things I love.
You are not one of them. Let's see if you can let this drop now. I'm betting you can't.
-
There would be no sliming of Kavanaugh if there wasn't first a sliming of Moore. When will we learn.
Oh please. Enough with the martyrization of Moore. This goes way, way back beyond that point. Anyone remember John Tower in 1989? You can find plenty of examples before that, as well.
-
Oh please. Enough with the martyrization of Moore. This goes way, way back beyond that point. Anyone remember John Tower in 1989? You can find plenty of examples before that, as well.
If the left derails Kavanaugh.... just like they derailed Moore....
are you going to be saying "Enough with the martyrization of Kavanaugh" a few months from now?
It's not martyrization. It's knowing and stating the difference between right and wrong.

Yes, blame low-voter turnout by the Rs on Briefers, that really makes sense.

I've wondered that myself.

@CatherineofAragon
Please be kind enough to point out the difference, other than the names involved, to those of us who, according to you, have no sense of discernment.
Oh,that's easy. Kavanaugh's accuser doesn't have a forged yearbook signature--from his assistant.
-
It sounds like Moore was like Arpaio in Arizona, really lacking in statewide popularity.
-
Funny, I don't recall Kavanaugh being accused of going to malls to pick up girls half his age.
Funny you sound just like the lady that started that rumor (put her husband up to it)...

You read far more into my message than I intended to say.
Concerning what I think is your point - yes I remember all the previous examples.
-
Do the Moore supporters blame Sen. Cruz for Doug Jones in the Senate because Cruz withdrew his endorsement? That must be a million times more powerful than something we do here.
-
Oh please. Enough with the martyrization of Moore. This goes way, way back beyond that point. Anyone remember John Tower in 1989? You can find plenty of examples before that, as well.
@edpc
No, that's not how we do it now. Conservatives don't think anymore. We kneejerk. If there's an R behind the name, he's automatically innocent and any evidence to the contrary is a fake conspiracy.
Therefore, one accusation is exactly like the last. See? No need to think at all.
-
First they came for Herman Cain...
Actually, CLarence Thomas, but it didn't work that time.
-
IF I lived in Alabama, I think I would have still gone to the polls and voted for Moore.... but it might have been one of those situations where you aren't happy about it. We can still voice our opinions, our displeasures, this isn't North Korea. People in Alabama should not give a hoot about what DC says or any of us not in the state even.
-
Actually, CLarence Thomas, but it didn't work that time.
Well, If you want to get technical it was actually Robert Bork and it did work. :laugh:

@CatherineofAragon
Fixed it for you.
-
Actually, CLarence Thomas, but it didn't work that time.
You could say Gary Hart was the first, but I never heard who it was behind his hatchet job.
-
Gary Hart was in?? What the primaries against Democrats so that's probably who did it.
Just like the Kenyan saga with Barack really begins with the Hillary campaign.
-
Do the Moore supporters blame Sen. Cruz for Doug Jones in the Senate because Cruz withdrew his endorsement? That must be a million times more powerful than something we do here.
Not wading into your bigger picture question of the influence of this forum, but will offer that yes I certainly held Cruz's feet to the fire on numerous occasions over his lack of defense of Moore. I think I recently also brought it up again within the last couple of weeks.
-
@edpc

Just what laws did Moore break? And right now if Moore was there instead of Jones, Kavanaugh would probably have already been confirmed. But people just can't see the wood for the trees.
-
Gary Hart was in?? What the primaries against Democrats so that's probably who did it.

Prolly. The DNCe done Hart like they woulda done Bernie if Bernie didn't stink of moth balls.

I think its genetic.

@dfwgator
Again, google any reputable conservative source. Even the reports on his financial crookedness were swept aside as untrue, fake, etc. You aren't going to be open to it now, anymore than you were then. So don't expect me to do the work for you that any conservative should have done, and with an open mind.
This is what happens when politics becomes the driving force in peoples' lives. They think that politicians can save them, so they get desperate and they align themselves with anything. Deep down I suspect they know the truth. I suspect that has something to do with the avalanche of squalling I get when I won't cave to the Moore apologists here.
Oh, well. I ain't caving.

I did no such thing but you will never understand it.

No, we'll have it straight. I told you he was a dead battle veteran and offered you the chance to retract it. You refused, and two posters egged you on and said "don't take it back, go for it."
One person, and I'm not going to drag him in, told you that your remark was beyond the pale and you should have been ashamed. At the very least, be man enough to own it.
You see why my estimation of you is about on a level with whale crap. And why I laugh when I see you portray yourself as a supporter of the troops.

Yes!! I told you, Simcoe's influence is good, people just don't understand. :laugh:
I think we might have to do a re-watch, too.

Never said I was a fan of Moore, but once he was the nominee, what was the best course? Make sure Jones didn't get in, and then later on, they could have dealt with Moore, either in the next primary, or even beforehand if the shenanigans that you pointed out were discovered.
Once the nominee is picked, you have to suck it up and go with it. We don't have the luxury of always having the choice we want.

Well, yeah, if politics is the most important thing to you. Others just say "screw this" and walk away.

:amen:
One of the pillars of our republic, and why we are the envy of the world, was presumption of innocence and it is the State's responsibility to prove guilt. A confirmation isn't a court of law, but the trend towards an individual having to prove his innocence is unmistakable and frightening.
Right.
The heart of the people... That THEY no longer presume innocence... It is a stunning, awful stain on the American character. And worse than that, they know longer care about that stain.
-
Just what laws did Moore break? And right now if Moore was there instead of Jones, Kavanaugh would probably have already been confirmed. But people just can't see the wood for the trees.
Party unity is the least of my concerns. I couldn't give a shit.
This is about right and wrong, and that is what matters.
Honor is an important thing - That it can be so easily sullied is a damn crying shame.

Well, the man was his own worst enemy in that campaign. The interview with Hannity was disastrous. After that, he dodged the press at every stop. When he did have people speak for him, they were the worst you could imagine. To top it all off, he tried to play down the idea he was bigoted by declaring he had one of them there jew attorneys. Honor or not, it was a debacle.

Individual liberties will be gone and replaced with a "social credit score" (like what is being established in China right now) pretty soon if this continues.

I don’t care if, in his personal life, my auto mechanic wears a latex cat suit and gets off on kittens licking his toes, if he can keep my baby running smoothly, I don’t care.
If I need the best heart surgeon around to give me a second chance at a good quality life, I could care less if his personal morality in sexual matters falls short of perfect – as long as his skills at his work are exemplary.
Similarly, politicians don’t need to be choirboys to administer to the duties of government. Personal sexual morality has nothing to do with a person doing his job properly.
-
My first take was "why is Moore trying to taint Kavanaugh? Does he have no clue what his reputation is?" But after reading the comments I now realize Moore is the poster child for today's GOP pride.

Yes, please google Roy Moore over a job he did while NOT on the Supreme Court, pm me if you want some links. Over about a 10 year period Moore as President and consultant (and his wife) basically ran The Foundation (non-profit) group as chairman/president/co-founder/legal consultant. So basically it was a 100k a year job while not in office. They offered him 180k a year (same as he made as SC job) but only could pay him what they brought in above expenses (including buying their building).
Now the hit piece from the Washington Post was just that, Moore basically ran an organization that promised to pay him when they could. Thus Moore did not get paid close to half a million dollars for those years, thus didn't report it as income. The WP of course said that was wrong, but you now see they aren't exactly pressuring the point because they were wrong. You are only taxed when you get paid (cash in hand). But nevertheless, some here took the bait from the WP hook line and sinker.
But if you disclose payments and pay taxes on IOUs that are not paid, feel free to complain. Right now, the totals paid for 10 years of work add up to 572,875 (and the IOUs of over a half million still not paid)... thus not reported. 572,875 divided by 9 (to be on safe side instead of 10 years) is under 64k per year.

@aligncare
Absolutely ridiculous comparison. Your mechanic and heart surgeon don’t have the ability to create laws that can infringe, degrade or destroy your moral standing, or send your loved ones to fight and die for causes just or unjust.
Your statement is patently ridiculous and sadly explains some things.

You do spin for the liberals often.... Moore's wife defended her husband by mentioning they had a Jewish lawyer (not a "them there jew attorney").
I would dodge the press also, especially when the left were sending down fake people to try to make a mockery out of you at every turn. When the late night show people start hiring comedians to disrupt your speeches, then it has become an opportunity to make the circus they created the narrative instead of what Moore wanted to talk about.
It all boils down to one thing, the left, the fake conservatives hate anyone that stands for Christian conservative values.
If being a true Christian conservative is bigoted, then count me as among the ranks. I doubt congress could of found a person more supportive of Israel than Roy Moore.

Maybe the one with the most "likes" on Fecebook will prevail. **nononono*
Moore's accusers were debunked, but retractions and facts aren't off the doorstep when BS travels around the world at lightspeed.
Funny how they evaporated after the election (sure sign of an astroturf movement or a smear campaign).
Amazing, too, that no one seemed to connect that the Homosexuals (of which Jones' son is one) were happy to strike back at the guy who lost his job to uphold the Alabama Constitution (on the subject of traditional marriage), and that just might be part of the reason the MSM was so happy to throw Moore out the window, while the GOPe wasn't any too enthused about having a guy who lost his job over the Ten Commandments monument taking a seat in Congress, and hoped he'd bow to pressure so they could replace him with someone who might play better with the crooks in DC.
Note that Cruz wasn't in the forefront of the standard disavowing movement from the GOPe.
But then, when the GOPe has your back, it's because they have a firm grip on the knife they stuck in it. Not people to run the river with, I'm sad to say.
I reckon the evangelicals in Alabama were inclined to sit the election out, with the feeling there was no one they could support, and it is damning that they presumed guilt, but such was the saturation in the media of 40 year old allegations that had never been mentioned prior to that election.
There were plenty of other elections they could have pulled that rabbit out of the hat for, but they waited until Moore ran for Senate?

Well, a man who twice lost his job over principle just might be getting smeared when allegations of decades old (alleged) improprieties surface just in time for an election. Especially when he has been a candidate for significant offices before that one, and not a peep was made.
Allegations from Kavanaugh's High School days have the same aroma about them.

It’s not ‘spin’ when it’s actually true. These spokespeople were the worst representatives he could have possibly put on television in the homestretch. You don’t blame him for avoiding the press, but all we hear about all the time here is how great it is that Trump does not ignore the press and their obvious bias. Moore lost, narrowly, in a state Trump carried by a nearly 2-1 margin. Everyone knew how important the seat was, even off year. Even after the loss, he embarrassingly claimed fraud and attempted to challenge the results. As much as some would love to believe, it wasn’t McConnell, me, or @CatherineofAragon that kept him from victory.

Conservatives are perfecting the victim act almost as well as some on the opposite side. Poor Trump, poor Roy Moore...they're never to blame for anything. In Moore's case, he was a crook with finances long before anyone got wind of the fact that he creeped on girls, but somehow, it isn't his fault.
-
It just occurred to me...today @Emjay said something like "I can't believe you have the nerve to show your face around here re: Kavanaugh."
Think about what that means for a moment. I think Moore is guilty, so I have no right to an opinion on Kavanaugh. We should all march in lockstep, and no thought is allowed. Every Republican, without exception, is automatically innocent.
Conservative thought is on the way out. Oh, well...at least Jim Robinson would approve.

I wasn’t aware that military service gives a person a lifetime free pass to do whatever they want.
-
Anyway, back to Roy Moore without reliving the whole scenario, I thought that was mainly about pursuing underage girls, not groping...he was accused of that once incident in a car in the parking lot at a diner, that's very much hearsay.

It's a "court" of public opinion, NO evidentiary standards nor facts required.

@Sighlass, you're making me sigh. As was said a million times back then, you need hard proof in a court of law. When a man is trying for a Senate seat, he isn't entitled, and public opinion is enough to sway one way or another. When you live your life the way Moore has, you destroy yourself. No help is needed.
This is the Catherine I love, from "The Tudors." A great show, btw.

You are correct on one point, public opinion does determine election outcomes. I just expected more from a bright TBR member such as yourself to not be swayed by unsubstantiated rumors pieced together by a man that lost a divorce case to his wife in front of Roy Moore. A man that had a gay brother that worked at WAPO that was married by a lady SCOTUS justice while the legality of such things was in front of her. A point that Roy Moore brought to the attention of the nation. A man that was friends with one of the ladies that accused Roy of wrongdoing, a man that met with WAPO reporters and coordinated interviews that he had set up to be future complainants.
The only thing I found that could of been conscrewed as "creepy" was that Roy did date younger women, (but did not admit to dating 17 or younger) after asking permission from their parents. Roy went to West Point (all male) then to Vietnam (not a dating paradise) then to law school at Alabama (mostly male), so he entered the dating scene late (as I did). He dated younger ladies, as I did, married a younger lady, as I did. He remained married (as I did) to the same woman for many decades. Quite a normal thing here, and most of America, but some see it differently. No laws were broken that had light shown upon them.
I problem with you was spreading rumors like Roy used malls for obtaining underage girls and was banned from the mall. Both accusations were found to be unsubstantiated. The closest fact was Roy did walk for his health and admitted doing so in a mall area (like a lot of people did). During the 80s, the mall was a pretty popular area, and I admit I used to cruise the same mall Moore was accused of frequenting (I had a hobby of car stereo building at the time and entered a few contests, never won). Gadsden was a good drive for me, but I went a few times, but preferred Chattanooga which was about the same distance away (and had better record stores). But everyone went to a mall back then, it was fun and lively for people of all walks of life. The Gadsden Mall was located on the riverbank, so it was somewhat scenic as well (though rumors of sinkholes that went for miles underground in the river abounded, so I was never tempted to swim there).
If (as another person on TBR) one does not like that Roy did date women a decade younger than himself and find that creepy, that is fine. I did it, my sister dated older men also, I don't feel it was wrong. Times and values have changed, but they are entitled to think that way. If someone is saying Roy was a pedophile then they either lack facts and are spreading unsubstantiated rumors which I do have a problem with. But there was nothing wrong legally with the way Roy lived his life that ever made light of day.
Now as far as "The Tudors" being a "great show". If the values of that show were compared to anything Roy was accused of, from rape, to homosexuality/bisexuality, to incest, to murder, to conniving, to plotting planning everything imaginable, yet you find Moore guilty just over rumors spread by liberals that wanted the position and would do anything to get it, including lying.
And the above was just one character in the Tudors (I tried to watch it, sister has series on disk, but it was too perverted for me to stomach).

@Sighlass
I'm not getting into all of the details again. I'll just say that it's hard to find conservatives outside of TOS and Breitbart who actually still believe Moore is guilty. To be honest, I find it amazing. But no minds are going to be changed.
I wouldn't call The Tudors perverted. There was some sexual content, but my husband and I are adults, so we can handle it. We don't confine our viewing to the Disney Channel.

What are you? Some sort of swingers? How dare you bring your filth on these pages. The only entertainment you should involve yourself in is the 700 Club or, if you cut the cord, passages from the bible.

Until I started posting here and let you corrupt me, my viewing habits were limited to Little House On The Prairie reruns.
Is Pat still claiming that secondhand clothes may be cursed by witches?

@Sighlass
LOL! It would be interesting to see the MY LIST of everybody's Netflix movies.
My Verizon recorded movies about 25, are mostly Westerns and Action.
-
That is a great list of movies, I know this is off-topic. I'm just saying, I thought about a year or so ago, someone in the forum had, probably in the entertainment section, a list of their favorite movies. That "Yearling" is interesting, I posted Newsmax's 50 movies with American values (something like that) in the last two months, the Yearling was on that list as well.
I think that list was yours @Sighlass , but maybe it was someone else's.
-
IIRC there was only one girl that accused Moore of improper behavior. Accusations from years ago
are now SOP from the Rats party. A presumption of innocence is a thing of the past. I miss the old
days where an accuser had the burden of proof not the accused.
Correct jpsb. We still have many RINOS as republicans. They all need to be voted out for lack of spine and no commitment to the American people. It is about their cushy job, go along to get along. Vote republican down the line, & NO INCUMBENT if they are rino;s. LIKE MCCONNELL & GRASSLEY. They act like this is something "new" happening in congress. BEING "BORKED',,ANITA HILL, remove the old farts! Death threats to Brett & family. CONFIRM HIM, JUST FOR THAT KIND OF ATTACK! The Rinos, suck.

Wouldn't mind a good list to comb through of Westerns, one area I have not really dug into to sort out the "good, bad, and ugly"... lol... If you can get it in list format, post it for me, or pm me the list, thanks. @DCPatriot

What do you think, that insults will stop folks from responding to you with opinions you don't like?
Thanks for the clarification on the movie title. I catch myself doing this often, a slight form of aphasia I presume. You will find it in a lot of my posts (skipped words, insert incorrect words, phrases out of order) , thus why I often edit them if I catch it (or wife points it out).

Yeah. I wish you would skip more words......like all of them in that last post.

Many ^5's! Wish the "judgmental religious ' on here could understand that. NO ONE IS PERFECT, not even them. "Who among you, will cast the first stone"? Actually makes them hypocrites! Ignorant way of looking a things. GOD IS THE FINAL JUDGE, NOT HUMAN BEINGS. When the judgmental religious do that, they are UN-CHRISTIAN. Shock.
:thumbsup:

You have got to be the must ignorant person at TBR that I have ran across.
1 Corinthians 2:15
We are to judge everything... Your "judge not" verse is addressed to whom? Hypocrites, then the rest of the verse is for how a hypocrite is to get right and start judging rightly again. This is first grade Christian stuff... Milk, not meat.
Christians are to judge angels for goodness sake.
Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!
Did you catch that.... "How much more the things of this life"......
Lets let Paul frame it...
Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? (1 Cor. 6:2-5)
If God were the only judge, the sins of all men would be “clearly evident, preceding them to judgment†(1Tim. 5:24a).
Those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.†(Prov. 24:25).
@LegalAmerican
Jesus said, “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment†(John 7:24).
Thus over and over I stress "judge rightly".... Every Christian knows nobody is perfect, but we can judge for those that strive to be more perfect than they were. Those that glorify their past sins vs those that want to not repeat them.
How about your "cast the first stone"... Have you actually read it? What story does it tell beyond your paraphrase quote?
Lets see, woman that was rightfully accused of breaking Jewish law runs up to Jesus for help. Jesus knows he is being watched and as a Jew can not support Jewish law that requires the death penalty for such an act. Does Jesus condemn the crowd for their judgement? Nope, Does he say what she did was right thus circumventing Jewish law? Nope. He is Jesus, he determines that she is honestly sorry and forgives her (his right, he is Jesus)...but leaves her with a stern warning, don't do it again. Jesus thus side steps trouble before his time is due, and goes on his merry way. Jesus at no time suggested what the crowd was doing was wrong, that they broke Hebrew law and that they judged wrongly.
BTW.... since you by your own words can't judge what I just said, kindly don't bother to reply. It is a waste of my time and everyone else.
