Outrage after social media users discover series of Hitler-praising tweets from CNN freelancer
Social media users are demanding CNN respond after discovering that one of their freelance contributors, Adeel Raja, who has written dozens of pieces for the outlet, wrote in a now-deleted tweet that "the world today needs a Hitler." After some digging, it turned out to be one of several messages Raja has posted praising the Nazi leader.
"The only reason I am supporting Germany in the finals - Hitler was a German and he did good with those Jews!" Raja wrote during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Raja last had a CNN byline on Sept. 16, 2020. He still lists his affiliation with the network on LinkedIn.
"Hail Hitler!" he wrote the following day. Twitter users shared screenshots of the messages. .......

It is truly disturbing and shocking what our society has turned into. I find myself shaking my head in disbelief all the time.

CNN says it cut ties with a writer who took to social media to praise Adolf Hitler, but his admiration for the Nazi leader who killed more than six million Jews was well-established prior to this weekend's post.
Adeel Raja, a Pakistani-based CNN contributor whose byline has appeared on the network's website at least 54 times, wrote on Sunday in a now-deleted post, "The world today needs a Hitler." CNN said Sunday night that due to Raja's "abhorrent statements," he would "not be working with CNN again in any capacity."
BMM was not proactive. Outsiders made a stink before BMM did what they should have done years ago.
