Catholic bishops urge Congress to spend $20 BILLION on programs that could INCREASE illegal immigration

05/13/2024 // Laura Harris // 620 Views

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is urging Congress to allocate $20 billion on migration-related spending projects that would inevitably increase illegal immigration into the United States. In a letter dated April 25, Bishop Mark J. Seitz of the Diocese of El Paso, Texas and chairman of the USCCB's Committee on Migration, urged lawmakers to provide more taxpayer-funded resources for different government and non-profit-run initiatives for the upcoming 2025 fiscal year. These initiatives will support the humanitarian needs of immigrants, refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, unaccompanied migrant children, survivors of torture, victims of human trafficking and others.
"As Congress begins its work on Fiscal Year 2025 appropriations, several policy committees of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will be engaging lawmakers on appropriations matters under their purview, expressing views on funding that supports the poor, migrants and refugees, foreign assistance, environmental protection, access to healthcare, housing, and nutrition and other programs that help individuals and families to live with dignity," Seitz wrote.
However, the letter also includes an appeal for the government to provide resources to the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) to speed up court hearings for illegal immigrants, or so-called "noncitizens."
"In addition to EOIR's backlog reduction efforts, we strongly support increased funding for Legal Access Programs, which includes the Legal Orientation Program, the Legal Orientation Program for Custodians of Unaccompanied Children, and the Recognition and Accreditation Program. Collectively, these programs not only provide crucial legal information to those with immigration court cases but also help streamline proceedings, making them more efficient and cost-effective, as well as fair," he wrote.

Axelrod: Biden Is Self-Congratulating, Not ‘Advocating for People in a Tough Economy Because of the Inflation’

Ian Hanchett 15 May 2024

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama adviser David Axelrod stated that while democracy issues are important, “if you’re sitting around the kitchen table talking about democracy and the future of democracy, it’s [probably] because you don’t have to worry about the cost of the food on your table.” And President Joe Biden “seems more intent on defending his economic performance and getting credit for the good work that he has done in many ways and not really advocating for people in a tough economy because of the inflation.”

Axelrod said, “I’ve said from the beginning, if you’re sitting around the kitchen — and I feel strongly about these democracy issues, I think they’re very, very important — but if you’re sitting around the kitchen table talking about democracy and the future of democracy, it’s [probably] because you don’t have to worry about the cost of the food on your table. If you have to worry about that, it’s more likely the thing on your mind. And I think there, I’ve been — I’ve said before, I think the President needs to lean into those issues a lot more. He seems more intent on defending his economic performance and getting credit for the good work that he has done in many ways and not really advocating for people in a tough economy because of the inflation.”

The United Nations plan for enforcing the Disease X lockdowns

GREG REESE
MAY 14, 2024
The southern border of the United States is wide open, and the Federal government has been conducting a wide-scale criminal operation of flooding the country with unvetted foreigners, distributing them across the United States, and providing them with homes and financial support. The GOP’s talking point has been that this is all about election fraud, but this has been happening all across the Western world for over a decade. This is something far more sinister than election fraud.

The Population Division of the United Nations concerns themselves with international migration. In the year 2000, they published Replacement Migration, a solution put forth to deal with declining and ageing populations. For years we were told that this was a conspiracy theory, but now that we are seeing tens of millions murdered by the experimental shots, it is becoming more clear what the objective is.

We are told that these are poor families fleeing tyranny, but there are massive amounts of healthy young men without any families. And time and time again we have seen them act violently against the native population, with very little repercussions from the law. As we are expecting the announcement of Disease X, and another lockdown, a recent report from the UK’s Jim Ferguson provides a plausible explanation of what we are seeing.

Israel to Blinken, Sullivan: Defeating Hamas Is the Priority

Joel B. Pollak 15 May 2024

Israeli government spokesman David Mencer said Wednesday that it was difficult to discuss plans for “the day after” the war in Gaza until Hamas had been completely defeated and the Israeli hostages had been rescued or released.

Mencer was responding to recent comments by U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan about the need for Israel to develop a plan for governance in Gaza after the war. Sullivan is due to visit Saudi Arabia and Israel later this week.

Mercer said that Israel had been “as specific as we can be about what will happen the day after Hamas. It needs to be the day after Hamas. Hamas needs to be defeated. They are not defeated yet.”

He added: “We believe that some of our hostages are in Rafah,” and noted ongoing efforts to free them. Mercer also noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had laid out some ideas for post-Hamas Gaza in various interviews.

Mencer aso responded to a statement earlier in the day by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the Israeli operation in Rafah had thus far had a “negative impact.”

While reiterating the importance of the U.S. alliance with Israel, Mencer said: “Yes, indeed, it has had a negative impact for the Hamas fighters and terrorists who are in Rafah.”

“We are eliminating their structures, we are eliminating their fighting force, we are eliminating their ability to threaten us in any way with their terror tactics.”

There is a lifeguard shortage all over.

I wonder why teens aren't doing this for summer vacation - you can make really good money at it because demand is more than the supply at the moment.

What kind of podcast are you interested in, @Gefn ?
Everyone is giving you political stuff... Is that what you're after?

Good gosh no. I like my podcasts to be about different things. Lately other than my French podcast I have been listening to one about movies and tv.... or of course animal stories. Or old radio shows like Dragnet, or Jean Shepard or Bob and Ray

I want to think of happy things when I  am walking or going to the gym. no current affairs.

Thank you @roamer_1

Blinken announces $2B arms deal for Ukraine
by Brad Dress - 05/15/24 8:46 AM ET

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday announced the U.S. was sending another $2 billion to Ukraine as Washington seeks to bolster Ukrainian troops on the frontline against a major Russian offensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region.

Blinken said at a press conference in Kyiv that the new package would include money through the foreign military financing program, which allows Ukraine to purchase weapons directly from the U.S. industry before delivery.

Those types of shipments can take longer to reach Ukraine than a presidential drawdown authority, which takes existing weapons from U.S. stocks. But the latest package comes off the heels of two separate tranches that used the drawdown authority, which were announced in previous weeks and are worth nearly $1.5 billion.

Blinken said weapons from those two packages have already arrived on the battlefield or are on the way, and the new foreign military financing assistance will help to boost Ukraine’s industrial defense base along with giving them more weapons.

“The newest support that I just announced, but particularly the $60 billion supplemental, we know is coming at a critical time,” he said, referencing the April national security bill that included $61 billion for Ukraine. “Ukraine is facing this renewed brutal Russian onslaught and we see, again, senseless strikes at civilians, residential buildings.”

The U.S. last month also announced a $6 billion package for Ukraine through the foreign military finance program.
