Another black man gets himself deceased by the police? Hey, time to riot, loot, burn, steal. What fun!
I read the news from the TCs every day. BC is usually overrepresented in stories concerning violence and criminality.
I have a very woke stepdaughter whose family lives not too far from Brooklyn Center. Although she and her liberal husband have it well within their means to move to a safer place, she refuses to do so. I hope it doesn't turn out bad for them and my two grandkids.

Protests erupt after Black man killed by police in Minnesota
By Dominick Mastrangelo - 04/12/21 07:25 AM EDT
Protests erupted in Minnesota overnight after an unarmed black man was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop.
The Brooklyn Center officer shot the man after learning that he had an outstanding warrant and attempting to arrest him on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Relatives of Daunte Wright, the 20-year-old victim, said Wright drove for a short distance after he was shot, crashed his car and died at the scene, the Star Tribune reported. Officials believe cameras worn the officers and mounted on the dashboards of police vehicles at the scene captured the incident, the newspaper reported.
Photos and video taken late Sunday night showed hundreds of protesters gathered in Brooklyn Center, which is located just north of Minneapolis, where the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin, who is accused of murdering George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, continues this week.
Demonstrators in Brooklyn Center chanted Wright's name late Sunday and climbed on top of a police headquarters sign. Officers in riot gear used tear gas and flash bangs to break up the crowd, the newspaper reported.

As authorities tried to take him into custody, Wright got back in the vehicle. One officer shot him, who was not identified in the statement. The car drove several blocks before striking another vehicle. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.

The really useful thing about BLM is the more they scream, the more aggressive an attitude many black folks will have towards police, the more often they'll get shot. And the cycle accelerates.
-
More details I’m sure will come out in the days ahead but this is what happens when you destroy the family unit of people. All critical thinking and objectivity is thrown out the window and replace with visceral emotionalism and tribalism
Plus with the Chauvin case falling apart on them and they start to believe that they should just riot and threaten to get convictions or get cops fired
-
Minneapolis is finished. It’s sad to see. We’re going to see more and more American cities collapse and become basically no go zones
This seems to be a problem only with American inner-city blacks. This is the end game of the Great Society

He was wanted on a warrant. He resisted arrest and got back in the vehicle and tried to speed off. He was shot & drove a distance before crashing into others. His FB is filled w/him flashing gang signs, using drugs and showing off cash.
ETA: I'm hearing now that he was also in possession of a firearm. Gee if the state only had a law that anyone under 21 couldn't own a pistol.
-
So just possessing a firearm, but not wielding a firearm, gives the police the right to shoot someone?
I used to be bad about putting off paying traffic tickets. I felt having outstanding warrants made me a better driver. I would pay them when I had to renew my driver's license. I never did get pulled over though for having outstanding warrants.

Possession of a firearm makes it problematic, and police are known to shoot drivers if they somehow feel threatened by the person behind the wheel. Dont necessarily agree with that policy, need more details here.

In Kentucky our CCDW is tied to our car tag and DL so the officers already know those facts when they pull us over.

Just guessing here...but I'm betting that when he tried to flee after resisting arrest...there was an officer in front of the car trying to get him to stop. That would give the cops PC to open fire.
But we won't truly know until body cam footage is released.

From https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/tyler-o-neil/2021/04/12/rioters-and-looters-ravage-city-near-minneapolis-after-duante-wright-shooting-n1439164 ,
Katie Wright, Duante Wright’s mother, said her son called her during the traffic stop. She claimed that police pulled him over because he had air fresheners in his car, but the police say there was a warrant out for his arrest.
“He called me at about 1:40, said he was getting pulled over by the police,†the mother told reporters at the scene in footage captured in a Facebook Live video. “He said they pulled him over because he had air fresheners hanging from his rearview mirror.â€
“I said when the police officer comes back to the window, put him on the phone and I will give him the insurance information,†the mother added. “Then I heard the police officer come to the window and say, ‘Put the phone down and get out of the car.’ And Daunte said, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘We’ll explain to you when you get out of the car.'â€
“All he did was had air fresheners in the car,†the mother said. “He got out of the car and his girlfriend said they shot him. He got back in the car and he drove away and crashed.â€
The Brooklyn Center Police Department released a statement on the shooting, announcing that an investigation is underway. The department claimed cops pulled Wright over for a traffic violation, but “officers determined the driver of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant.â€
“At one point as officers were attempting to take the driver into custody, the driver re-entered the vehicle,†the press release explained. “One officer discharged their firearm, striking the driver. The vehicle traveled several blocks before striking another vehicle.â€
While commonly flaunted and seldom enforced, having something dangling from one's rear-view mirror is a traffic violation. For whatever reason, the officers did pull Wright over, apparently for the danglers (how many, how large, I wonder). Once pulled over and taking some #$%, the officers IDed him and found he had an outstanding warrant. When they tried to take him into custody he resisted, tried to escape, probably endangered the officer(s) and/or civilians, and got shot for so doing.
IOW, had he not had the danglers, he'd not have been pulled over and would be alive today. Had he not had a warrant - for not appearing in court, possibly - the officer wouldn't have tried to arrest him, and he'd have driven away alive and holding a minor traffic ticket (or even just had a verbal warning). Had he not resisted arrest he would be out on bail today. Similarly, had he not tried to flee he would be out on bail today.
That's what is "known" so far. The info being preliminary, it's probably incomplete and possibly partially incorrect.
-
I don’t agree with reflexively taking the cop side without knowing all the information yet but after being told “hands up don’t shoot,†Breonna Taylor shot by cops while in bed, Jussie Smollet, and this Derek Chauvin case amongst many others makes me a little jaded

IMO putting a person who lacks confidence in their ability to physically handle themselves in a struggle virtually guarantees they'll go to lethal force much faster than someone who does.

That is very true. Lowering the physical standards so more women can get a LE job costs real lives. On both sides of the job.
I will say I'm not real tolerant of people who want to fight with LE and expect not much to happen. If I did what many of these perp idiots have done I'd be shot and killed too... Duh...

It also discourages competent people from wanting to be cops in the first place, knowing they'll probably get passed over for promotion by a woman or person of color.

Biden Suggests Minneapolis Police Shooting Could Have Been ‘Intentional,’ Urges Investigation
By Daily Wire News

President Joe Biden suggested on Monday that the police shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright over the weekend in Minneapolis could potentially have been “intentional†as he urged calm while investigators work to conclude what happened.
“I think we got to wait and see what the investigation shows,†Biden said. “And the entire investigation. You all watched, I assume as I did the film, which is fairly, the body cam, which is fairly, fairly graphic. Question is, was it an accident, was it intentional? It remains to be determined by a full blown investigation.â€
“But in the meantime, I want to make it clear again, there is absolutely no justification, none, for looting, no justification for violence, peaceful protest understandable,†Biden continued. “And the fact is that, you know, we do know that the anger, pain, and trauma that exists in the black community, and that environment is real, it’s serious, and it’s consequential. But it doesn’t, will not justify violence and/or looting. And so the question is, how we in an orderly way, make clear that you get down to a full blown investigation to determine what the facts are, and what is likely to happen.â€

Meanwhile, Potter is believed to have left her home overnight and is currently staying outside the area, police sources told DailyMail.com.
When DailyMail.com visited Potter’s five bedroom $435,000 home on Tuesday morning, the property appeared deserted.
Police were seen circling the area but said they had no word of any protests planned in the neighborhood.
They had also erected a series of no parking signs in the immediate vicinity of her home.
Potter is understood to be with her ex-cop husband Jeffrey, 54, and their two adult sons: Samuel and Nicholas.

'I can't accept it was a mistake': Daunte Wright's parents refuse to accept that veteran cop of 26 years - who was training a rookie - could confuse gun with Taser and 'accidentally' kill their son
Daunte Wright, 20, was fatally shot by Brooklyn Center Police Officer Kimberly Potter, 48, on Sunday after he was pulled over for what police said were expired license plate tags
Police said a struggle broke out when they tried to arrest Wright after running his name and realizing he had an outstanding warrant
Authorities have not confirmed the nature of the warrant but court records show Wright was being sought on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a pistol without permit and misdemeanor fleeing police
The city's police chief on Monday described the shooting as 'an accidental discharge' and said the veteran officer had mistakenly fired her gun instead of a taser
In an interview with Good Morning America on Tuesday, Wright's parents Katie and Aubrey said they could not accept their son's death was a mistake
Wright's mother added that she wants Potter to be held accountable for 'everything she's taken from us'
Potter, a married mother-of-two, is believed to have left her home overnight and is currently staying outside the area, police sources told DailyMail.com
The fatal shooting has sparked violent protests and unrest in the city that is already on edge because of the trial of Derek Chauvin, the first of four police officers charged in George Floyd's death

Either there is law and order or chaos. In major cities, the liberals choose the latter. Police must be able to arrest black youth without allowing them to just run away at a whim. That means stepping up the violence (beat down) or shooting, or very harsh jail times with no time off for good behavior, in the long run once word gets around that running is unacceptable behavior (counter productive), it will occur far less. Pandering to BLM destroys law and order, which cause more communist elements to join in the fray stirring the pot of anarchy.

Brooklyn Center officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright resigns, as does police chief

Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter resigned Tuesday, two days after she fatally shot 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop. The city also received a resignation letter from Police Chief Tim Gannon, Mayor Mike Elliott announced Tuesday.
Elliott said he hopes Potter stepping down will bring some calm to the community, though he says people ultimately want justice.
“We have to make sure justice is served,†he said Tuesday. “… Daunte Wright deserves that.â€
Potter wrote in a two-sentence letter on Tuesday to Elliott, the acting city manager and Gannon: “I have loved every minute of being a police officer and serving this community to the best of my ability, but I believe it is in the best interest of the community, the department, and my fellow officers if I resign immediately,†she wrote

A GoFundMe page set up by the family of Minnesota police shooting victim Daunte Wright has raised more than $400,000 in one day.
The Daunte Wright Sr. Memorial Fund, set up by Wright’s aunt, Kelly Bryant, seeks to raise funds to pay for the 20-year-old shooting victim’s funeral and burial expenses, and for “mental health and grief counseling†for his family.
The money will also help support Wright’s infant son, Daunte Wright Jr., Bryant wrote.
The page has a goal of $500,000, and had raised nearly $410,000 by Tuesday afternoon.
“The road to justice is very long, and the Wright family will not let what happened to Daunte be forgotten,†she wrote. “The officer(s) who took his life must be held responsible.â€

Can We Have an Honest Conversation About the Daunte Wright Shooting?
By Mike Miller | Apr 13, 2021 4:00 PM ET
Question: Can we have an honest conversation about the Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, shooting? Note: I didn’t ask “May we?†Rather, are we capable of — are we still allowed to — in America, have an honest, open, comprehensive dialogue about the police action in a Minneapolis suburb on Sunday that left a 20-year-old black man shot to death?
As was most likely the case for millions of Americans, my initial reaction when I first heard about the shooting was “Here we go again†and “In Minneapolis, of all places.†Another black man. Another white police officer. Another death, while under mostly different circumstances than the George Floyd case, the operative words are mostly different.
As I understand the facts, Daunte Wright was pulled over for a routine traffic violation when police noticed expired tags on his car. After having a seemingly normal conversation with the 20-year-old, an officer returned to the police vehicle to run a background check and subsequently found two outstanding warrants Wright— one for fleeing the police, one for carrying a handgun without a permit.
Shortly later, one of the officers yells “Daunte don’t run!†Police scuffle with him as he fights to get back into his car. Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon reported on Monday that the officer involved in the action, 26-year-veteran Kim Potter yelled “Taser, taser!†before firing a single shot from her handgun which she had accidentally grabbed instead of her taser. She then screamed, “Holy, shit, I shot him!â€
Wright sped away, the car crashed; the 20-year-old dead in the driver’s seat with his terrified girlfriend seated next to him. An unimaginable tragedy on multiple levels.

In Kentucky our CCDW is tied to our car tag and DL so the officers already know those facts when they pull us over.
Not sure if it is the same here, but the last time I was pulled over, I informed the officer I had a CCP and he said "I know". Everything was courteous and professional, about what I have come to expect in these parts.
-
Many are doing just that
Problem is, you drive the good cops out and what's left?
-
You let people get away with ridiculous crimes for a year, then, sooner or later, there will be an incident like this. The particulars are not so relevant as the statistical probability of a population infused with the idea that they can ignore the law, and that the law is rendered moot because no one dares enforce it. One mistake, one error in judgement, and the street scene is on again, the family is cashing in, etc.
I'm not even saying that the family didn't love their boy, but if they did, why not dissuade him from a life of lawlessness. Does this go deeper and have its roots in demographics and an urban mindset? After more than 20 years of glorifying the gangsta mindset and lifestyle in popular culture, and decrying any influences to the contrary, it is virtually inevitable that this is the result. Has being lawless become the preferred social behaviour, with tacit approval, to the point it is ingrained in the urban (sub)culture? Incidents like this, along that cultural interface with an orderly society, are inevitable, if that is the case.
It fits hand in glove with the whole 'anarchy" thing, but denies that government fundamentally exists to protect the rights of all, and that "all" definitely includes the victims of this subculture, not just the members.
Succeed in imposing anarchy, and the gloves come off. "Fairness" becomes meaningless, and the survivors will decide what the law becomes, whether those survivors are part of the 'community' or not. While not having the "Man" out to 'get them' might seem attractive, the "Man" won't be there to protect, either, and this will not end like they think it will.
Keep your powder dry...
-
Problem is, you drive the good cops out and what's left?
Driving out good cops started years ago when Big City mayors decided that the Police Department was too "Neanderthal".
-
Not sure if it is the same here, but the last time I was pulled over, I informed the officer I had a CCP and he said "I know". Everything was courteous and professional, about what I have come to expect in these parts.
And that is for the safety of the officer and in a way for the safety of the CCP holder as well. And 99.9% of us will make sure that the officer pulls us over not only has our CCDW car when we hand them out DL...we'll let them know whether or not we are armed that particular day.
Happened a couple years ago with my wife before we went to Colorado. County Sheriff nailed her on 65....she let him know she wasn't carrying that day and he thanked her and they had a very pleasant interaction.
Again it comes down to basic civics.
-
And all of this wouldn’t have been necessary had Duante Wright not skipped out on a court date and had a felony warrant out for his arrest on a gun charge...had not been driving in expired tags and not resisted when the cops tried to place him under arrest. Also at 17 he shouldn't have been the father to a 1 year old child. Lots of failings in this incident...a lot of them start with his parents.

@txradioguy
The woman cop had a "brain freeze". There was pushing and shoving action and she reacted quickly saying, "Taser" over and over and "shocked" him with the taser. That was what she wanted, thought she was doing, until the gun went off.
Since this happened, I heard an upper "cop" person say the taser and gun must be on opposite sides of the cop. That makes total sense and I am not sure how she had them. If one second could be taken back, he would be alive. It was that one second firing the weapon that changed her life and stopped his.
My son made the film, "Heroes Behind the Badge" some years ago and made another cop film in Florida. In both cases, he was riding with the cops. He has seen the frantic actions that take place between cops and regular people and cops with dangerous people. You can find "Heroes Behind the Badge" on the internet. When it came out, the film was shown to a gathering of the FBI including the Director of the FBI. It is required viewing for new FBI guys and at every police academy in the country.

Yes, another hood rat gets himself killed. Apparently, it is simply too hard for many black people to understand what bad things might happen when they resist arrest and try to flee.
Would whites be rioting if it were white Wright who died because he resisted arrest? Of course not.

The warrant that Daunte Wright tried to flee was pretty damn serious, not a 'victimless crime'
By Thomas Lifson
The shooting of Daunte Wright was a terrible thing that should never have happened. There is no justifying his death. But contrary to the first reports that he died over a deodorizer hanging from his rearview mirror (a claim that evidently originated with his mother), the fact is that he was committing the crime of fleeing execution of a warrant for his arrest over a rather serious crime. Jorge Fitz-Gibbon reports in the New York Post:
Daunte Wright had an open warrant related to an armed-robbery case against him when he was shot dead Sunday by a cop who claimed she thought she was firing her Taser, court records show.
Wright, 20, and another man had been charged with first-degree attempted aggravated robbery in December 2019 for allegedly trying to steal $820 from a woman at gunpoint, according to Hennepin County District Court documents.
The pair had crashed at the victim's home in the city of Osseo after attending a party there — then demanded money the next morning while flashing a gun, authorities said in court papers.
"Give me the f------ money — I'm not playing around," Wright told the woman, according to prosecutors.
The victim refused and began screaming for both men to leave, records show.

@Victoria33 just like with those of us with a military background...LEO's train constantly to where things become automatic...we achieve what we call "muscle memory" with battle drills armed responses escalating levels of force etc. So that when we respond to something during a stressful situation our responses and reflexes are automatic and "brain freeze" is eliminated from the equation.
The now former Chief of Police for this township said their training and SOP has the service pistol on the strong side and the less than lethal (taser) on the weak side to prevent what happened in this incident.
You would think that even in a stressful situation like what she faced something in her 25 years as a cop and all her training would have told her from muscle memory that she grabbed the wrong weapon, the handle of a taser is purposely designed to feel different in the hand from a service pistol to prevent what happened. And her eyes should have told her that the black slide of her service pistol wasn't the bright yellow taser she intended to grab.
There are some definite failures somewhere in her training. Whether it's things like this in a training scenario that were over looked because she's female, or whoever is running the Department's training section isn't doing what he/she should be to ensure officers don't mistake a 9mm for a taser.

Officer in Wright shooting to be charged with second-degree manslaughter
By John Bowden - 04/14/21 12:22 PM EDT
The police officer who fired on Daunte Wright during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Center on Sunday, killing the 20-year-old, will reportedly be charged with second-degree manslaughter.
Washington County Attorney Pete Orput confirmed the charge against former officer Kim Potter, who resigned a day earlier, to The New York Times in an emailed statement Wednesday.
The news follows days of demonstrations in the city as well as the resignation of Thomas Gannon, Brooklyn Center's former police chief.

Police Blockade Former Officer Kim Potter's Home Amid Growing Tension In Minneapolis

Law enforcement in the Minneapolis suburb of Champlin erected barriers Tuesday morning to blockade the home of former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter, who fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop over the weekend.
Police looked on as workers fortified the home with concrete barriers and black metal fencing, in a similar fashion as the courthouse in downtown Minneapolis where former police officer Derek Chauvin is currently on trial in the death of George Floyd, The New York Times reported.
Police also set up “no parking†signs along the street near her home, according to The Wall Street Journal. A Champlin police officer stationed outside the residence confirmed Tuesday that Potter was not home at the time. Neighbors said the situation has the community on edge.

"The shooting of Daunte Wright was a terrible thing that should never have happened"
Well, I guess Wright didn't deserve to be shot, but let's be honest...the country is a lot better off without him just as they are without George Floyd and numerous hoodrats who get themselves killed by the police or die in custody.
If Wright hadn't gotten himself killed in this incident, given his criminal history and inability to take commands from the police, there's a strong chance his demise would have been not too long in the future. Like Floyd, he was an idiot who was basically an oxygen thief.
I'm sorry if that's too harsh, but I'm not sorry.

Have you observed in every single one of these "racist" incidents where a black person dies with a white cop present, the deceased was less than a perfect human being to put it mildly.
Would you defend a white punk like Wright or Floyd, or would you say like most whites I know that if you play with fire enough times, you're going to get burned.
Last month in the Twin Cities a white idiot named Dominic Lucas Koch and a white friend stole some stuff from Walmart. Trying to get away from the cops who arrived on the scene quickly they crashed their own vehicle in a parking lot then carjacked an elderly man's truck. They led the police on a chase about fifty miles north of the TCs when the truck overturned. Koch got out, pulled out a gun, and started shooting at the police who were following the morons.
He got ventilated and succumbed to numerous projectiles entering his body.
I would bet the opinion of most white people on hearing the news was good riddance to bad rubbish.
He had a history of lawbreaking and met his demise due to terminal stupidity.
Life for most people is an IQ contest. Wright and Floyd flunked the IQ test, and they paid with their lives. It's cold, but they won't be missed. They contributed nothing to society except problems. Why can't black people acknowledge the useless members of their community?

Daunte Wright faced attempted robbery case when killed by cop, allegedly choked woman and held her at gunpoint
Daunte Wright had an outstanding warrant linked to a prior arrest when he was fatally shot by a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, police officer.
Court documents show Wright was facing an attempted robbery charge over an incident where he allegedly choked a woman and held her at gunpoint.
The New York Post published court records Tuesday showing that Wright and another man, Emajay Driver, were charged with first-degree attempted robbery in December 2019 for allegedly trying to steal $820 from a woman.
The documents from Hennepin County claim Wright and Driver were at the victim's apartment and all three were leaving when Wright "turned around and blocked the door preventing victim from leaving."
Wright then pulled a gun, pointed it at the woman, demanding she hand over the cash he saw her roommate give her for rent.
"Are you serious?" the victim asked, according to the probable cause statement.
Wright then allegedly replied, "Give me the f***ing money, I know you have it."
Wright then allegedly choked the victim twice during a struggle, and threatened to shoot her as he unsuccessfully tried to pull the cash from her bra — where she had placed the money for safekeeping....................

Police don't. What an ignorant thing to say. Wright had a warrant out for his arrest on a ROBBERY WITH GUN ASSAULT.
Then he tired to flee, in the process, would have killed, maimed many people, bystanders, police, in his 'get a way', using his car as a weapon. POTTER SAVED MANY LIVES....that day and is a HERO. She needs an award not being prosecuted.
Talk about a backwards world.

But... but he loved his mamma.

Typical thug. Then tried to flee, and Potter stopped him. She is a HERO, as his fleeing involved his car. NO DOUBT STOMPING ON THE GAS AND NOT CARING WHO GOT KILLED OR INJURED, in his get a way. There were other police and bystanders there. Better all those people were harmed or maimed for life? POTTER IS A HERO! ALL THINGS ARE NOW...BACKWARDS.
END TIMES.

Officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright released on $100K bail
By Lexi Lonas - 04/14/21 08:24 PM EDT
The former Brooklyn Center, Minn., police officer who shot Daunte Wright has been released from jail after posting a bond.
Kim Potter is charged with second-degree manslaughter in Wright's death. She was arrested Wednesday morning and was being held at the Hennepin County Jail on a bail of $100,000.
The former Brooklyn Center police officer will appear in court on Thursday. She faces up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $20,000 if convicted.
Potter was attempting to arrest Wright on an outstanding warrant when he tried getting back into his car, police said. Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said Potter mistakenly pulled her gun instead of a Taser and shot Wright.
Gannon and Potter have both resigned.

‘Get the white people to the front!’ BLM orders use of human shields in 4th night of Minnesota riots
April 15, 2021 | Vivek Saxena
Left-wing, anti-cop extremists rioted again Wednesday for the fourth night in a row in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, the city where accused armed robber Daunte Wright was shot fatally during a traffic stop over the weekend.
The bad behavior occurred despite the since-resigned officer involved in the shooting, Kim Potter, being arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter earlier that evening for having accidentally opened fire on Wright after he’d begun to resist arrest.
Videos from the rioting uploaded by various journalists showed the agitators once again congregating outside the Brooklyn Center police station and proceeding to harass law enforcement by, among other things, hurling projectiles at them while using “white people†as human shields.

Do you think Potter actually wanted to shoot that dirtbag? She made a mistake. She should have known better, but there it is. That is not the first time a leo made a mistake like that. It's happened a number of times before.
Given the thousands of interactions of cops with recalcitrant motorists daily, by the law of averages these things will happen.
How to decrease the chances of getting shot and killed by a cop? Do what they tell you to do, and don't resist arrest.

She's not a hero, and even though he's a dirtbag, he doesn't deserve to have gotten shot by a cop who confused her firearm with a taser. We don't need cops who don't know that their firearm isn't a taser.
I look at it like someone who has smoked five packs a day of non-filtered cigarettes for fifty years and gets lung cancer. I'm sorry they got the cancer, but they should have never smoked at all or at least not five packs a day.
The kid was terminally stupid, and he paid for it with his life. If you stick your head in the lion's mouth enough times, don't be surprised if he eventually bites it off. Think of that idiot Treadwell who got himself and his girlfriend killed because he was a moron.

IIRC after the authorities had hunted down that bear and killed him and were walking back to their vehicles, another bear (griz?) came out of the woods and attacked them. The bear got well ventilated for his efforts. I don't know if any other bears were watching, but maybe seeing Bob get drilled by humans deterred a few of them from future human snacking.

You would think all the idiots who get themselves killed resisting arrest would eventually get a clue. But no.
In fact, I just read of an incident this morning in Ohio where some dirtbag got himself killed by resisting getting patted down by the fuzz in a HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM!!!
He had a gun on him, and fired a round at the cops who promptly ventilated him to his eventual demise.
