Former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced Tuesday morning she is leaving the Democratic Party in a series of tweets criticizing their 'cowardly wokeness' and accusing them of 'stoking anti-white racism'.
The ex-representative for Hawaii's 2nd district and United States Army Reserve officer accused the party of 'demonizing the police', 'protecting criminals', 'believing in open borders' and 'dragging us even closer to nuclear war'.
She also urged those who agreed with her to leave with just a month until the crucial midterm elections in a video attacking the institution whose members she clams 'actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms'.

I'm seeing a lot of people expressing some skepticism or, at least, urging caution in celebrating this. Tulsi has had an F rating from the NRA and a 100% rating with the Brady Campaign. She sure wasn't very conservative when she ran for president, although she did seem to be slightly more sane than the rest of the Democrat clown car. Worst of all, perhaps, she was a WEF Young Global Leader in 2015.

In other words, some might call her a wolf in conservative's clothing. I honestly don't know whether she's had a real epiphany or not, but will wait to see.

Many seen to forget that Trump was a dim once and espouted some left of center views.
Maybe I am mesmerized by her beauty, but I am willing to give her a voice, at least until she stabs us in the back.

You threw down the gauntlet. Kinsinger is middle of the road at best, and a suckup to the left. Cheney ... aside from the warmongering, and grandstanding on everything Trump related ... is tolerable. Romney used to be okay as a northern republican, but tacks a little more to the left every year. Gabbard is clearly left of center, albeit sane on cultural issues, and I agree with her on foreign affairs.
So Cheney, but not by much.

Also fair. And like @roamer_1 those cards may fall in a different order as time passes.
Me? I know what I am getting with the three original (R)’s and I don’t much like it. That gives Gabbard an opening in that hypothetical question. When I’ve heard her commentary in recent months, she has impressed me. So, we’ll see.

Right this minute, Gabbard mainly because she seems to really focus on the constitution and swims against the tide. Don't always agree with her but that has never been my requirement. And I don't get the feeling she is for sale..
The other 3 roll with the flow with the greatest return... nothing but emotional based reactions and no sound reasoning or even a basis for decision making.

She’s leaving the dims, she’s easy on the eyes, she’s Army trained, AND she’s right on cultural issues? Whoa!
In my opinion one of the most important components in restoring government to its constitutional roots is cleaning up the culture. In a couple of generations where schools would be returned to their proper role and function in a society of liberty-loving, free people, there would be millions of quality Americans ready to lead America in the White House and in the halls of congress.

I have a friend that’s pretty conservative and he made the statement a couple years ago that he would vote for Tulsi Gabbard if she ever ran. I asked which of her political positions does he support and he couldn’t name any
I don’t doubt her sincerity. But she still supports a lot of leftist policies

My instinct is she is genuinely moving to the right. It will be interesting to watch.

Thing is, in my county for example there are alot of conservative, pro-life Catholics who've been Democrat all their lives. I know they aren't blind to what is going on in the party.
While they may not vote Rep, it's also a good probability that any Dem not far-left woke may walk away and just not vote, or skip most of the ballot, write-in, etc.
You wonder if Tulsi isn't just the tip of the iceberg. Not sure if the Dems have calculated for their base not turning out.

Democrats turned their party into a cesspool as best they can. Now, like democrat areas of the country they reside in, they are moving out of those cesspools of their making too. To move on to be politically viable, they are ready to move into the Republican party and play genuine Conservative RINOs, at least for a little while.

People can change their views dramatically, and actually mean it. My cousin was a big pro-union, pro-Bernie far leftist for quite a while. Next thing I knew, she was a rabid conservative and enthusiastic Trump fan.
I'll wait to see whether Tulsi has become a conservative, or just an ex-Democrat.

To be honest, I was skeptical about Reagan, Trump, and Rick Perry.
Reagan and Trump won me over.
Perry did as Secretary of Energy, but not as Governor.
As Governor, Perry didn't do anything to stop Illegal immigration (I realize it is the Fed's job, but Abbott and a few others are at least trying).
Big donors wanted the cheap labor and he turned away from it.
He had a big land grab to build an interstate highway system that (Thank God!) fell through.
He was more conservative on other things, and I think he was fine as Secretary of Energy.
John Kennedy (Louisiana Senator, not JFK) has done well.
I guess we shall see how Gabbard turns out.

I like the theme developing here, that of redemption, in spiritual things or as with Tulsi Gabbard, freeing oneself from mundane sins—like political associations. Before I point fingers at others I always search myself first for those times when I was changed, when I redeemed myself in areas of my life.
So, I’m willing to put aside my doubts about Tulsi. I’m just glad the minions of wokeness have lost one more American.
