I guess some people,like those whose careers are in show biz or banking don't have much choice but to move to some place like NYC,LA,or Chicago,and the rest of the denizens of those cess pools just don't know any better because they have never lived anywhere else and have been told those are the best places to live their whole lives.
To this last group,I have a word of advice. NEVER move away. Stay right where you are because nowhere else can compare.

I’m where I am because my mother is elderly and I can see her 4-5 days a week.
I also know that in many places in this country, I can rent or buy a house for what I pay in rent.
I think I’ll move eventually though.
