New Ohio Law Allows School Staff to Carry Guns on Campus After 24-Hour Training

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, signed a bill into law on June 13 that allows public school teachers and staff to carry a gun on campus after they have received 24 hours of professional training, an annual background check, and an additional eight hours of training each year.

The purpose is to provide greater security for the students and the schools, said the governor.

"The consensus, strong, strong consensus in the way police officers have been trained for now a number of years, is you go in and eliminate the shooter," said DeWine at a Monday press conference, in reference to school shootings and protecting students............

RINO DeWine made a point of saying this law requires no one to carry a gun. Yeah, we get it.

This is the sort of thing that will at least permit contrasting models for school security.
