New asylum rules approved by the GOP majority and Democrat minority House Appropriations Committee would give the right to migrate to the United States to a foreign population at least half the size of the American Midwest.

Where the hell does the House Appropriations Committee get off making rules concerning immigration? Especially rules that go against and/or cancel out immigration policies by the President.

But yes, on a political discussion board such as this - I'm a wet blanket because.... well, it's politics that reflect our culture right now. So - I'm none too rosy about it.
Now if you wanted to talk church stuff, mission work or fun stuff like Star Wars, bathroom humor, good Asian food and model building - then, you would not recognize me most likely.

But yes, on a political discussion board such as this - I'm a wet blanket because.... well, it's politics that reflect our culture right now. So - I'm none too rosy about it.
Now if you wanted to talk church stuff, mission work or fun stuff like Star Wars, bathroom humor, good Asian food and model building - then, you would not recognize me most likely.
It's hard not to be a "wet blanket" in this political environment we're in... considering the constant assault we on the right are under... and the constant assault our constitution and government as founded is under ... not just from the radical left, but also from some in government who pretend not to be radical leftists. The obstructionism from the anti-Trumper Congress aholes makes it all the more frustrating... since proven that even if/when you've won the election and control of all three branches... we still can't get everything that needs to be done accomplished.

There was a term I used to use called a velvet coup.
It was roundly pooh-poohed as an impossibility to happen in this country by a lot of the same people who now are rabid Trump supporters screaming about the horrors of the Deep State attempting to overthrow the results of an election.

Well..... a velvet, or "soft" coup, if you will... is a real thing. The division comes in re: whether or not it has actually happened in this country or not. Since the radical left has infiltrated every level of government thus far, you could make the argument that it has. But some would disagree on the definition of that type of coup.

Probably the same with me. Except for the model building. I'm too busy rebuilding my kitchen.
So, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese or Japanese? I have my clear favorite.

As I said about the other article, I hope this is something only a House Committee can do with no hope of passing the Full House or Senate, let alone, be vetoed. It's ludicrous.

All of the above. Malaysian also. Malaysian fried rice and curried flatbread are real treats.
Find myself making homemade Pad Thai or Singapore Street Noodles most often because when it is just me at home and the wife is out on assignment those are very easy and relatively quick to make. Plus since I love leftovers, I make enough for 4 to 6.
Lived in India, so Indian curries and Hyderabadi biryani are staples I have to sate now and then. Since I live in the Hills of Hicksville, there is no down-the-street Asian family restaurant cooking cuisine - so I have to cook my own.

You are much more traveled than I, but I have a favorite restaurant that makes the absolute best Panang Curry. In fact, I think I will have to drive in and get some next week. I haven't tried anything Malaysian, but would like to.
