Texas is a Second Amendment bastion. And they’re poised to become the one of the newest members of the constitutional carry club. Local politics prevented this push in times past. Now, a bill allowing for permitless carry has passed a state senate committee. Gov. Greg Abbott has been clear: If the bill comes to my desk, I’ll sign it. It now goes to the Texas Senate floor for a full vote, where some reports say passage is not a slam-dunk. The senate is split 18-13, with Republicans controlling the chamber. That’s not a lot of wiggle room for antics. Still, should this pass, Texas will become the largest state in the country with constitutional carry

Maybe that will discourage some of the Plague Carrying Rodents from moving to Texas from California?
And clearly the line of permitless open carry was crossed once before, going in the wrong direction. Time to re-cross that line and start recognizing the supremacy of the Bill of Rights.
EVERY state which has Constitutional Carry should demand their Congressional caucus introduce legislation ...what's the word...darn...requiring all states recognize as valid the Carry Permits issued in other states, just the same as driver's licenses are.

While I concur that there are liberal rodents moving from California to freedom loving states and that should be a concern, please don't neglect Washington and Oregon who are much more liberal and have at least in Oregon ongoing rioting while Washington doesn't even try to disguise their rampant communism in Seattle(just like San Franshitco). But even at that there are good solid Conservative people and areas in all three states. Neglected also is any talk of Texas's growing socialist rot and growing illegal population.
Even with the rot growing in Texas I, a Californian would be happy to move to Texas or any of the other freedom loving sane states if I could.
See I really don't have a gripe with your pointing out socialist Californians moving to Conservative states, it's all part of the democrats long term plans, my only gripe is your and others neglect other state's socialist contributions.

I live in L.A. The last thing I want when I finally retire and escape to America, is to find someone in the new neighborhood from ANY of the Left Coast People's Republics.
And I know I'll have to do a lot of 'slainin' with my new neighbors.
Or just buy a MAGA hat.

I'm not going anywhere, even after my mom passes. My kids, grandkids and my wife and I all live close, Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Fullerton. Even if I really wanted to leave the great weather and features of California it would take a divorce first. I'm just really really tired of the constant slamming and blaming California.

I understand and share the general opinion of the nation re: Californian extremists, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that there are millions of patriots here as well.

Normal people in America recognize the "L.A." to mean the city of Los Angeles, whereas "LA" means Loseranna, and nobody not a local would consider L.A. to mean lower Alabama because that would imply there's some part of Alabama that isn't low as it can go.

I'm Los Angeles for one reason, and one reason only. The job.
I'm going to retire back to someplace where it can snow eight feet on a weekend. I miss WEATHER. L.A. doesn't have any of that.

My wife and I escaped.. er... moved from CA to Texas a few years ago. 14% state income tax has been replaced by no state income tax at all. Draconian gun laws have been replaced with very reasonable ones. Small freedoms abound... we get plastic bags in grocery stores... no deposits are required on cans and bottles. The $300 we paid our CA city for parking each "POD" we used on the street while loading up in CA was replaced by "no charge" while unloading in Texas. Services are better. TX picks up large trash like furniture and appliances for free on a regular basis along with my used insulin needles. The tiny $765,000 two bedroom one bath hovel I lived in back in San Diego is now a four bedroom, three bath home with jacuzzi and a huge storage barn for less than a third the price. My small Texas town has two huge hospital complexes and the campus of the University Of Houston Medical School, which all added up to helping my wife totally beat cancer last year. Shopping is great and restaurants are the best (we MAKE beef here).Gas prices in Texas typically run close to half what they are in CA (we MAKE oil here). Kids say "Yes, Sir" and "No Ma'am" and play unsupervised and safe all over. Violent crime is all but nonexistent. We don't lock our doors but most people fly the flag every day. In my "redneck" neighborhood I have a doctor living in the house next door, a pharmacist living across the street and an engineering professor from the local college living behind me.
I'm a West Point grad. I was born and raised in New York City (don't tell anyone else that). I have lived all over the US and the world. Spend some time living in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, and similar places and you will appreciate ANY PART of the United States. I have also lived in NY, NJ, MA, PA, and CA. Living in these places makes me totally appreciative for and thankful to Texas. (I found Florida to be a great place too.)

Lower Alabama.... is nice if you like flat land and country living.... or you can move to Upper Alabama and enjoy the mountains and a few snow falls and more country living... (and a few tornadoes).

They will still come to the state...they'll just do as they've always done and move to the Austin/Houston/San Antonio area.

FWIW...Kentucky...as long as you live outside of Louisville, Frankfort or Lexington is a state full of Conservative God fearing Constitution loving folks. It made my transition from being a life long Texan to retiring here very painless.

I don't neglect them. I'm not a lawyer and I'm not writing a textbook. Everyone is fully aware that Oregon is the most whacked state in the country, worse even that CA. And Washington is almost as bad.
The three states seem to be in a race to see which can achieve Venezuelan Paradise the fastest.
Should I also drag in New York and New Jersey in every post mentioning the Californicator Exodus?

Don't forget Taxachusetts! During a recent visit there I attended a school fair with a friend. There was nothing but vegetarian fare available. When I said I was going to leave for awhile to get a burger, I was almost attacked.
