Documents recently released by the government show that the value of hotels and local transportation contracts for the U.S. delegation to Nelson Mandela's funeral in December were considerably higher than previous estimates.  On December 19, we first reported the cost at about $11 million. However, rather than two hotels and one vehicle contractor, additional contracts have been disclosed bringing the total to five hotels and two vehicle contractors.

And despite spending that much money on this jaunt, they STILL couldn't do a proper security sweep beforehand, which resulted in the fake sign language guy standing three feet away from the President....

Perhaps the money that should have been spent on security went instead to Moochelle's lavish dinners.

Party hardy. It's not like it's real money. It comes from the taxpayers.
Sadly, the taxpayers deserve as much as they're willing to take and the gov't officials at the trough have learned there are no limits.
